  1. With booking first/business class flights...and knowing how limited those seats can become...I gave up and paid the extra for Air Plus just to get it ticketed early. Happy we did, as the seats indeed were going fast for our January Orlando to Sydney flight.
  2. Thanks! Will try a bit earlier than I thought....as we get closer at less than 60 days. 🙂
  3. Agree. We are on half of Serenade WC. Could not book any suites...not even JS...even though we booked our quarters within hours after bookings opened with Next Cruise. Those were all nabbed by full WC sailors. Must have been a cancellation, as we were able to win the bid for that first quarter to a GS, thus entry into CL. Last quarter, system would not even allow me to upbid. So...we stayed "cozy" in a mid ship balcony. First 3 of the 4 mini segments of fourth quarter we were allowed into the CL as one of the top 20 Pinnies...this last (22 night) we did not make the cut...missed it by 200 points. Feel sorry for Amit the concierge in the CL...he told us (as we now hang out in the VCL) that it is miserably empty in there. That cuts into their tips. Sad.
  4. LOL...you got that right. 😄 😄
  5. I read where it had to be 30 or under to move up: You can submit a bid for a stateroom upgrade on Celebrity Cruises' MoveUp program up to two days before your cruise departs. To be eligible for the program, you must: Be eligible within 30 days of the cruise departure date Opt into Celebrity Cruises' email correspondence Celebrity Cruises will email you if your cruise is eligible for MoveUp, and the email will include a link to browse and bid on available upgrades.
  6. We saw them from our balcony last night (not as many bright ship lights versus upper open decks)...but they were faint...just a milky white color.
  7. Unfortunately weather does not look all that great on the predictions for either port right now...but...sigh. That is the North Atlantic. 😉
  8. Great minds think alike! Same thing on the agenda in Halifax for us.... 😋 Though I am not a fan of gravy on my fries. 😄 Upcoming St. John's we are doing the comical "screech-in" tradition. 🥴
  9. We adored Halifax when we did the NE cruise on EX some years ago. Also spent time in a VRBO for a few weeks in Nova Scotia last year. Loved it...happy we are going there as a sub. 🙂
  10. Was nice meeting you as well! Miss you two already! RCI shoreside decided to skip going to Nuuk due to predicted incoming low pressure system. Instead we are now steaming directly to Newfoundland. They have now also added Halifax Nova Scotia as replacement. All works for us, since we will be in Nuuk (twice) on Viking next year anyway. I love Halifax and happy we will be going there. 🙂
  11. We are about to slip into the Prins Christian Sund in a couple of hours. Some "Growlers" along our path to get to the opening of the Sund. 😉
  12. When I filed the last group of papers, I had to state that I did not file with insurance or credit card...though I wish I had tried the credit card route. But not sure they would refund that large amount. We had paid in full our B2B in a suite...to a total of 19K. They bullied us to pay in full in the beginning. Should have paid attention to that red flag I was seeing.
  13. Yes, the seas calmed a bunch around midnight (as Captain Stig predicted). Very calm now as we are currently rounding the southern horn of Greenland. Floating ice of all sizes now...with a couple of "grumblers". 🙂 Temp went from 48 degrees to 39 in just a half hour as we get closer to the ice capped mountains.
  14. We filled out all the forms they requested....but I think it was just a ploy to make us think they are working on it. 😠
  15. Our tour guide told us "any minute". 😉 She was right! They had been monitoring the magma flow underground...which had stopped. Sure sign of getting all that pent up energy to blow it's top. 😮
  16. Yes, hopefully soon! If we don't book the food tour again, we will find our way to the bakery in town near the fountain. Was soooo good!😋 We are indeed two of the Loyal Royals (now former loyal) that are drifting away from Royal. Finally have 3 cruises on the books for Celebrity, and 5 longer cruises booked with Viking. On Viking (after Royal cancelled two of our Aussie cruises) we are doing circumnavigation of Australia with Bali and Taz tossed in...then over to do the same in NZ in January. Still have a few RCI cruises on the books...Radiance B2B in Alaska next year is one.
  17. I can't remember the name...has been probably 5 years now. It's a very popular local tour I booked online. Will try to find it again, as I would love to book it again when we are there later this year.
  18. We left yesterday at 3 pm. Heading over bouncy seas to Greenland now.
  19. Yeah...some just don't get it. Thanks my friend. 🙂 Sure hope to sail with you and Kathy again in the future. Probably better chance on X now.....since we are drifting away (pun intended) from Royal now.
  20. Beautiful pictures!! We did an overnight in Reykjavik on Thursday...doing the circle tour until 6 pm. The earthquake happened at 8:30 pm, in the same area we were at just two hours prior. Then the huge fissure volcano erupted at 9:30. Did not get to see it...drats. But lucky we were off and away before it hit.
  21. We love all four sisters and have cruised on them all several times each. I don't really have a favorite...but if I had to choose...probably would be Radiance due to the fond memories on board our B2B cruises in Alaska we love. Going on #5 Seward to Seward again next year. Last one was cancelled due to Covid...as many of us have suffered so many of those cancellations. 😞
  22. Mine too! Your bro and I are done with the big theme park ships lately. Though I still adore the way the Wonder is set up in design.
