Absolutely fascinating that barge is towing at a bit of a lick by the looks of things. No way that could be kept under cover or secret squirrel. It is amazing how large bits of machinery are moved around like the wing sections of an Airbus in Bordeaux. The helmsmen that carry out these transports are something else or to paraphrase - needs must so its the devil that drives. Just found a Vantage website that’s still working it says they are working to clear the ransome wear attack and our cruises are sailing and we are ready to welcome you aboard. It says no trips have been cancelled. The website has limited functionality evidently and the phones will be operating from May 1st. It’s Vantagetravel.com. I do hope it’s right and not a hoax. Good luck Vantage customers.

At Schiphol anything can slow security down, I was wearing my admittedly brand new Timberland walking boots and it was when you had to take off your shoes the security lady went completely do lally called all her friends to see them hence a hold up just because they all liked Timberlands and had never seen the style before. I do like the Dutch. Wearing my boots saves weight in my suitcase.

Must admit the obc is very new only started this year and it’s 50€ each, I thought it couldn’t be used in the on board shop but can’t find we’re I got that from. I’ve never had my hair done but have indulged in a manicure. The luggage was a small backpack, ours have all gone to DofE participants, then as you did more trips a wheeled carry on then a full sized suitcase delivered before your trip. Evidently a bottle of Moët is over £100. One evening we drunk the ship dry of Laphroaig at no extra cost Aussies, Canadians and Brits one of those memorable friendly special evenings.

Kristelle you’re in for a shock it would have to be an extremely off the wall cocktail not to be included as the norm. You could try a different cocktail as often as you like. On several of our Scenic cruises the bar has their cocktail of the day both alcoholic and nonalcoholic different every day (I suspect this happens across the industry) so the ladies meeting up front was a colourful affair of ‘taste that cocktail’. ( this was a group of Canadians, Australians, New Zealander’s English one Japanese and one Norwegian lady, some years ago before the Americans discovered Scenic) putting the world to rights as our menfolk talked of - rubbish! I don’t drink gin but DH does and the first test he carries out is the quality of their Dry Martini. One cruise in particular mixed the meanest Bloody Mary ever. I’m actually try to find what premium drinks and their cost on board Scenic Gem at the moment as it’s DHs birthday and I want to surprise him. Technically you could disembark without opening your wallet on board. I was told I couldn’t use the obc in the on board shop but then this is all so new it’s a W&S isn’t it?

Wow there are supposed to be three in England one on the Isle of Wight is supposed to be the smallest town in the U.K. and one tops the lot by putting Great before it’s name so Great Yarmouth.

When you put all the odd bits together someone’s going to have to outrun not only the sheriff the Marshall but also all those people who’ve lost out on their cruises and other holidays. The websites are still down in the U.K. Or you never know some entrepreneur may gallop to the rescue. Fingers crossed.

Well I have a complaint Travelmarvel APT are yes less expensive than Scenic but and this is huge they have the temerity to charge more for ladies wash and press than men’s what a cheek. Only travelling from the U.K. this is really no problem to us but I can see how it comes into the calculations for our overseas friends although Scenic now has €50 obc does mitigate this a little.
