Bringing Wine & Water onto Anthem

Don’t try to bring a crockpot on at Port Canaveral if you stop there, they will confiscate it. There was lots of booze they didn’t let on too.

Crap. I was really looking forward to slow cooking some meals while on board.

I taped a luggage tag to a 12 pack of 16 ounce waters and handed this to the porters on a recent Freedom OTS cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. This was delivered to the room without issues or questions.

Also, I carried on 2- 750ml bottles of wine which were scanned on the x-ray machines. I had them wrapped in a heavy shirt and in a bookbag. No issues or hassles.

I am interested about the water being brought on board - how about for medicinal purposes? We always bring a small case among 4 of us to use. Never had a problem before, and I'd like to do so on Anthem next year when we sail.

Medicinal purposes? Can you seriously get a doctor to write a note?

What if you need vodka for medicinal purposes??? lol

I did see somewhere on here that someone got an allowance for water for "medical reasons". Don't remember which cruise line though. People claim the ship's water gives them edema or something.

Who knew that crock pots were that much of a thing at Port Canaveral?

As for "medicinal purposes," those who use CPAP machines need distilled water. If you contact the special needs desk before departure they'll have it waiting for you in the room along with an extension cord.

If you need to bring on water, contact special needs before hand and get them to clear it. but BRING THE WRITTEN APPROVAL. The ship might not know.

But the only thing I have heard is that some ports will not accept a case of water with a luggage tag, but they will accept a case of water in a duffel bag (handles). This is not RCI, but the dock workers.
