Another Empress Dining Question

Is there a formal night on this ship, Empress of the Seas for a 4 night cruise? If so when is it? How formal is it going to be? Is that when lobster would be served?

No formal night on Empress. Don't know for sure about lobster, but in general, Royal has not served the "free" lobster for cruises less than 5 nights.

Could be, Empress does things a little differently.

Just returned from 6 night Empress. Grilled lobster tail was on the final night's menu.

How is the food in the Empress Main dinning room, is Chops worth the price? I know these are somewhat subjective questions however any advice would be appreciated.

When we sailed Empress to Cuba in October the food was without a doubt the best we have had on a Royal cruise and service was outstanding. We did not eat at Chops. Yes, we had lobster.

Cruised Empress in December for four days. Ate in Windjammer most meals, MDR one night. No "formal" night per se, but several did dress up for one night. Did Chops for lunch on sea day. I enjoyed it immensely. Empress is definitely a little ship with a big heart!

I would agree about the food. The quality was very good. The rumor I heard was they had a higher per person food budget. Considering we are paying only 200pp more for a 7 day balcony on oasis vs. the 4 day interior on Empress it makes sense.

Did Chops on Empress in January and enjoyed it very much. MDR was good too.

My favorite meal in the MDR is the Cuban rack of lamb!
