Omax4 Posted September 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Does this happen because the ship is built in the 1980s? Or just a coincidence?
WatchHill Posted September 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Caught this on WCVB news. Seems total loss of power and if things can't be re-started, the CG might tow the ship. If it's mechanical, they'll need to find a shipyard capable of taking on the repairs. At least it didn't run aground like the old QE a number of years ago. Back then we took our boat out of Buzzards Bay and sailed around the QE. Darcy
milepig Posted September 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2018 I hope they’ve learned and handled this better than when she ran aground in Costa Rica. Some people never got their belongings back and it took months to sort things out.
sb44 Posted September 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 7, 2018 We're on Cape Cod visiting Strenz with plans to go see her in Provincetown Monday. Hope all is well on board. Anyone know who the captain is? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
milepig Posted September 7, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 7, 2018 Does this happen because the ship is built in the 1980s? Or just a coincidence? No. Age is not the issue. However I consistently hear the Seaborne ran the triplets into the ground and delivered them in deplorable condition.
Nitemare Posted September 7, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 7, 2018 https://whdh.com/news/hundreds-stranded-after-cruise-ship-loses-power-in-buzzards-bay/ Lucky for them it was today, when it's cool, as opposed to the past many weeks with temps in the 80s and 90s!
