Escape Disembark Tip

Wondering if it would be better to just go down at 7:45 - 8 and avoid standing around for 25 minutes?

This is what we do on other ships, try and head down 30 minutes or so after initial self-disembark starts. I know Escape starts disembark late though, which may cause more issues with that approach.

Okay, generic question. We are staying overnight in Miami the night we arrive back in port on the Getaway, so the earliest we can check in to our hotel is probably noon. We want to stay on the ship as late as possible. Can you still get drinks, etc. while everyone else is disembarking? Or are all the bars closed? Also, is the buffet the only place to eat breakfast that day? We are in the Haven, does anyone know if the Haven restaurant serves anything the last morning? Any help is appreciated.

The line to get off is continuously growing...we did only have carry on luggage with us.

We usually do that as well, up and out early. But out of curiosity, what is generally the latest you can disembark? I wonder if the crowds die down by then...

I disembarked with the last called group a few weeks ago. It was around 10.15am and yes the line wasn't nearly as long as I heard others talk about. Early or late seems to be the best for avoiding the crowds.

I don't know about the Haven so hope someone can clarify your options. But I can tell you that the bars are closed... in fact they close early on the last night. At least one of the restaurants was open for breakfast, but if you want a slightly later breakfast the Buffet stays open later.

Just off the ship this morning, and that was our original plan. But you have to be out of the cabin by 9 AM, and they don't let you sit outside on any deck either. With the restaurants/bars/casinos closed by then, we ended up joining the line to disembark after sitting for awhile on deck 8 by the atrium area and watching the procession go by below us. It wasn't too bad; the line kept moving.

Thanks! I am usually up and moving early and DH wants to move slower, may give that a try next time!

The pool deck was available to sit and wait on my sailing a few weeks ago.

They open up disembarking as soon as the can, as soon as the ship is cleared and customs people are in place. The sooner they get people off the sooner the crew can get to work. People don't realize that turnover day is the longest, hardest working day for the room stewards

UBP if you have it does NOT WORK on the last day. I learned this when one of our cruise mates wanted her daily mimosa at her last breakfast.

Here is a reason to save that free bottle of sparkling wine for disembarkation day! :bottle-pop:

On Sunday we got in line to disembark at 8:30 and were outside on the street by 8:45. The longest wait was for the elevators so we just bounced our luggage down the stairs from Deck 11 to Deck 7. It was noisy and sounded like bodies were falling down the stairs, but worth it!! :)

We ate breakfast that morning at Taste and I think they were open until 9:30 am

I dont understand what youre saying ~ Could you please explain this to me.

If you want to self-disembark, you need to be carrying your own luggage off with you. Else you are doing the standard group disembarkation where you will need to wait for your group to be called in order to get off the ship.
