Independence refurb??

Recommended Posts

i see where they changed the Labyrinth dance club to Izumi. That sounds great and can't wait to try it but does anyone know where you can go now late night to dance on board?? We cruise with a bunch of kids aged 21 -25 who loved hanging out there every night ..... now they are wondering where they are going to be going to go dancing late each night??!! :D Has anyone been on the Indy since it has been refurbished and has any ideas??

On the Indy at the moment and the Viking Lounge is being used for the late night disco.

Nothing in the Solarium or Studio B

Last week Studio B was used for a 'High performance night club experience'

It was empty!

How would you get a drink and what would you do for seating?

There is a bar at the back and plenty of seating at the ice rink

Actually they have been using studio B as a disco area. With flooring of course.

What is the raven?

The Raven WAS the nightclub on deck 3 &4. In the renovation in May it was turned into cabins and Izumi.

No the big lounge with Egyptian decor is still there - they have taken out the Egyptians and repained it and new carpets etc.

Playmakers is a superb use of space, between the Casino and Boleros. I think it was where the photos used to be

Why don't they use that for the nightclub the Viking Crown Lounge is way too small and always full of children taking up seats.

What is the name of that big lounge with the Egyptian decor?? I was thinking about that one...it is a big lounge and thought it might be a good one to use.

I believe those get renamed to Star Lounge after the refurbs.

It was the Pyramid. It is now the Star lounge. They use it for karaoke [emoji441] and those art auctions, so still very under-utilised imho

For those of you on Indy now or recently sailed since the refurb... how is getting on and off the ship in port? We are booked on the June 15 - 14 night Southampton round trip on Indy next summer and in ports like Rome, Naples and Florence/Pisa, we want to be able to get off the ship as quickly as possible. Just wondering what your experience has been so far.

The Viking Crown is adults only after a certain time when it becomes the disco.

I don't really remember kids sitting around the Viking lounge...but it was just never very crowded even late night. I am just wondering where the "DJ" is going to be now who was previously in the Labyrinth. We have been on the Indy the past two years and it was even the same people at the bar in that club in the evening....just wondering where we are going to go to find them!!!!! :D:D I'm sure we will find them somewhere !!!

We haven’t got the same itinerary but getting off and back on the ship this cruise has been very well organized

This is our first time on Indy, currently reroute from Palm to Lisbon and wow she is amazing, here with my wife, kids and parents (separate cabins obviously :) ). We have had no issues with public space at all and the ship is apparently at full occupancy, windjammer got a little bit busy one morning just before closing time but I put that down to a mad rush of people dragging themselves out of bed at the last minute following a few too many cocktails the night before :D. Getting on and off the ship has been very smooth with no long queues. The kids absolutely love splashaway bay and slides, will be doing the laser tag and trampoline over the next few days.

The service in the main dining room, I am really lost for words at the level of service we are getting from the waiter, assistant waiter and head waiter. We cruised last year with a competitor and the service we have received has blown them out the water.

I've asked my wife, kids and parents what did they prefer royal caribbean or who we went with last year and all have said roya Caribbean. Btw my wife had cruised previously on a couple of occasions and wouldof normally of chosen the other but even she is taken back by the service that rc are delivering.

There is a DJ booth now in the Viking crown lounge so you will find the DJ there and more than likely you will find your previous cruising friends sat at the bar on the stools. :D:cool:.

They did a much better refurb of the Indy in the Viking Crown with regards providing a DJ booth. The Navigator’s set up is awful as it took away the stage. At least Indy kept their stage for other events in the day time.

Glad to hear there is a DJ booth in the Viking lounge....I will def let the kids know ....I'm sure they would have found it anyways! :D We were on another ship....I am thinking possibly the Brillance??? That we partied every night in the Viking lounge .....I remember sitting at the bar and it actually rotated! It was crazy! Especially after a few drinks! ;p There was another ship we were on that the elevator went right up into the middle of the Viking lounge and it was always a party up there every night...but can't remember that ship....maybe Navigator??
