Grand embarkation lunch

When you get to your room, look on the back of the Princess Patter under dining and check the hours for lunch. That will tell you which Dining Room is serving, and for how long. Never crowded, always good.

If you do not see it listed, my guess is the dining room on deck 6 near the Atrium.

Is the Club Class side open on embarkation day ?

Club Class is just a different section of the MDR, anytime the MDR is open, Club Class is open.

The embarkation luncheon is very limited.Go to the horizon court.

long cruiser

Good idea...if you like to fight crowds and hunt for a table.(yn)

We went to Alfredo's and got a custom pizza for lunch. However I really like the Shrimp/Avacado salad available in the MDR. The Sliced tenderloin, chicken and pasta is pretty darn good too. Heck it is all good!

It wasn't a few weeks ago when we sailed on the Grand. The lunch was being served on the other side of that same dining room on deck 6, though. Service and food were both great and the selection was quite adequate! As a matter of fact, our waiter we had in the club class dining area was the same one that waited on us for lunch that first day.

Thank you....that was our experience last year

Because you can either sit in a quiet room and be waited on or maneuver your way through a crowd of 1000 hungry newly-boarded passengers til you get to the steam tables, then desperately hunt for an empty table.

Embarkation lunch last week in the Da Vinci dining room on the Grand Princess had the regular amount of dishes as every other lunch. Definitely not limited on embarkation day. We found the peace and quiet of the Da Vinci dining room an excellent way to start our cruise!

Lazy Mary,

Just got off the Grand today. First time Princess cruisers and first time in Club Class. We loved it! Club Class is not open for lunch on embarkation day; however the other side of the same room- Da Vinci, was open.

We had a wonderful breakfast in Club Class this morning- debarkation - Ana took our bag at the door and set it aside for us. It was a great way to end our cruise!

Thank You....on our last two cruises we had Club Class and really enjoyed it. Never made it to the Crown Grill for breakfast although we keep saying we will ( someday) we are sleep in ...breakfast in bed people. (Room service) So never made it to lunch in Club Class either. I can't understand how we put on weight on a cruise ! must be the sea air ....lol

Not if you're elite and get on board quickly. We just got back from Alaska. Our cabin wasn't ready so we headed to Lido and we found a window table. The rest of the cruise, the window seats and just seating in general was taken over by a certain group of people who had a family member sit at table(s) and called it their own the whole cruise. Even waiting in line for ATD, there would be a family member standing in line, then when they were getting closer to the beginning of the line, the family members (sometimes 10-15 of them) would get in line in front of you. I put a stop to that right from the get-go. I flat out told them they weren't cutting in line in front of me. I got in line in front of them.:halo:

JF,

On our cruise this past week on the Grand we found 2 different times that Club Class and Da Vinci were not both open at the same time. Embarkation lunch - only Da Vinci is open. Debarkation breakfast - only Club Class is open. At all other times, both sides were open at the same time.

For those who have not sailed on the Grand- the Da Vinci dining room is broken into 2 sides- "left" side when approaching (which is actually the starboard side of the ship!) is the Club Class section (a small portion of the entire dining room. And the "right" side when approaching is the Da Vinci - anytime dining - room.
