Fumes at stern of ship

There is another thread discussing soot on balconies at the stern of the ships.

Are exhaust fumes themselves ever a problem in that location?

Sometimes you can smell it. Not always, but sometimes. I will say I have a very keen sense though. I can smell a moth break wind from 15 nautical miles.

This is not an issue.

We had fumes a couple days last year but nothing that ruined our cruise. Not an issue inside the cabin at all.

I have a nose like that too but can honestly say we didn’t smell any fumes. It must be when the ship is moving and we were always asleep.

Living with a wife who often, to my befuddlement, queries me "Do you smell that?", I am glad and wise to defer to you and Phil on this issue.

However, I still expect be questioned while in our stateroom :).

I can also smell the fumes. I have smelled them sometimes on the buffet restaurant in the open area.

It most probably depends on prevailing weather conditions dispersing the exhaust fumes, sometimes you will smell them mostly you will not.

Yes, it's only occasionally, but when it's there Bloodhound Phil here will smell it!
