Just received yet another free cruise from Club Royale

Recommended Posts

I just went on my first cruise back in June and the day before disembarking received a letter that I had a free cruise from the casino (evidently based on my points played). I booked that cruise and will be leaving in December. Now today I receive an email from RCI Club Royale that they are giving me another cruise (Jr. Suite). Is this typical of Club Royale? I only took 1K to gamble with and left with $1,600... (slots)

How did you do that? I always end up in the negative side and don't get free Jr. Suite from them. Do you know how many points you got on that cruise?

If I were a gambling man (no pun intended), I would bet that your experience of profiting from the casino is anything but the norm.

A casino is not in the business of losing money. And they certainly don't give away cruises with the intention of losing money.

You got lucky. Tread lightly.

And they will if you keep on gambling, sooner or later they will get it all back.

Believe me, I've gambled enough over the years that I understand that. That's why you quit when you're ahead.

I have no idea. I called to ask them about my points and they couldn't/wouldn't tell me.

I mostly played an hour or two a day/evening. Some days not at all. Penny machines. Hardly ever maxed bet. On my December cruise, it's a very port intensive week so probably won't play too much. And I rarely drink when I play.

How do you sign up for Club Royale??

These days you do not sign up at all. All you have to do is insert your seapass into a slot machine or have the dealer swipe your seapass card while you are playing at a table and you are "in".

Gambling aside, what was your your last onboard spend? Did you drop a lot of money on specialty dining and excursions?

Maybe they are offering you a free cruise because you spend a lot of money on the ship on things other than the casino...or maybe it’s because they want their money back. ;)

Either way, congrats on the free cruise!

Wow, they have recently revamped the casino rewards program and it is harder to get a decent discount on future cruises. My DH and I play slots for several hours a day ($1.00 - $2.00 a spin) and hardly get $100 off the next cruise.

Consider yourself lucky!

They have upped their offers. I am the same as you. typically gamble only 1-2k on a 7 day cruise. In fact I only cxruised once last year. I'm leaving for a comped cruise tomorrow and have another comped (balcony) booked in November. All based on last years cruise. Check out the Cruise conversation thread for more sharing of the RCI offers. :-)

Thank you! No, we did no RC excursions and only ate lunch at one specialty restaurant.

We are getting those free invites often. I guess we "earned" them by

spending much of our onboard time at the table games. They can't possibly be trying to get their money back from us, they just want us to offer them more of ours.:D

Free cruises fromCasino Royale are based just on how much and how long you gamble. They don’t look at how much you spend on the ship. Even though you didn’t spend a fortune, my guess is that you spent ALOT of time playing. I play cards and cruise fairly often and I spend a lot of time in the casino. Unfortunately for me, slot play gives more points than cards.

Congrats! I rarely hear that Casino Royale give a junior suite randomly.

Honestly, I didn't have enough free time to spend much time in the casino (as opposed to when I go to land-based casinos). Here are the options I got:

That’s really awesome. I would think nothing of spending three hours a day on the penny slots and never walked away with more than $250. However, since the casinos have become smoking dens I no longer go near them. Confine my play to local smoke free casinos.
