Constellation upgrade floorplan - must be a secret!

I find it odd that after announcing several months ago the upgrades to the Constellation that will begin in a few days, and with reservations for all future cruises including these upgrades, that Celebrity still hasn't changed the Constellation floorplans on their website. I would think for passengers booking cruises it would be nice to give them information on where the new areas will be, and what to expect. There is no way anyone could book a cruise now that would have only the old arrangement.

I agree & you might want to call Celebrity & advise them of this lacking info.

hey, you're right! That is weird. I'm sure people would like to know if their cabin will be over a noisy location or something. I think Celebrity is keeping their options open if they don't get certain things accomplished during the drydock - they don't want to promise something will go somewhere and it doesn't make it there. One of the Princess ships was supposed to get the casino moved during a drydock and it never happened due to lack of time. The casino got moved on the other ships, just not that one. Connie's a guinea pig in the Solsticization, so Celebrity is probably just being careful to see how it goes.

GAWD, please tell me they WON'T be putting the dreaded grass on the M class ships????!!!! That was the biggest disappointment of sailing on Equinox in February--too much space dedicated o something not very well being used. Could make those areas about 1/4 the size and add room to the sun deck space and the Aqua Spa & Mast Grill table areas. WAY too crowded on Caribbean HOT weather cruises.

We booked back on the Connie just for the fact of the new additions and the regular comfort zones of the M class ships that we love.

Nope, no lawns on the M class. However, I've been told by an unreliable source that they will be installing Astroturf in all the hallways :D

OK, what am I missing? I haven't been around much since I've been busy with my little guy, so I didn't know Constellation was getting a facelift. We're booked for March 2011- are changes going to be in place by then and what's happening?

Is the Tuscan Grille a new alternative restaurant? Where on the M class will it be?

For info on the changes, rather than rehash it here, there are a couple of threads that covers it extensively. Here they are: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1154594&highlight=constellation+drydock and http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1116461&highlight=constellation+refit

100% disagree! The lawn club was amazing and great use of space! No more pools and sun chairs! On our last cruise it was used so much by everyone, its a great space o relax and enjoy a drink without pool bands loud music and or kids all over. It was relaxing Country club like. It reminded me of our families summer home on Lake Muskoka, boat house, umbrellas, beverages, croquet and Bocce.....LOVES the LAWN club!

So much better then some lines adult Sanctuaries that you need to pay for or loud TV screens all over the pool decks. We like Celebrity for wanting to create spaces for people that are more enriching yet simple!

Loved the Lawn Club

I found this a few minutes ago on Cruiseindustrynews.com. Posted just 10 hours ago, it is supposed to be what the new Tuscan Grille will look like.

Very nice! Looks like a pleasant space..

When is the facelift to be completed? We want to give it a bit of time afterwards to make sure everything is working & running well!!

Hi Susie, hope you and that little guy are doing well:)

All the M class ships are being given a facelift. Constellation is first up

and that will be starting next week so yes, by the time you sail her

next year everything will be going full swing;)

Tuscan Grille, Bistro on 5, new Martini Bar, lots of changes.

I still don't know how they are going to squeeze a restaurant into that conservatory space??

When we were on the Solstice in Feb 08 I wasn't that impressed with the lawn club. However, we just returned from an 11 day on the Equinox and we spent a lot of time up there. We had a lot of kids on this trip so stayed away from the pool area and just hung up top on the lawn club. Like toronto says kind of like a country club. We loved the quiet, Sunset Bar, nice chairs, bocce, etc. It was great.

My kids loved the Tuscan Grille on Solstice and now that they're putting the Bistro on Five on the M class also we intend to try that also. They also loved that little restaurant. Having so many choices makes the cruise so much more versatile, especially with select dining. 8:30 is our favorite meal time but as we're getting older, 7 is more to our liking. We want to do and see more of what goes on after 10 o'clock, and not hit the bed right after dinner.

So many choices, so much food, so little time:p

Can't wait to try all of them out next March on Connie. She's on her way across the pond for her refurb and I can't wait to see the final results.

My other half is due to be working on the dry-docking of the Constellation. However, he's currently stuck in the US after finishing working on the HAL Statendam so I have no idea when he'll get accross to Hamburg.

He was meant to be coming home first but it's looking doubtful I will see him until after May 9th when the Constellation is finished. :(

Does anyone remember what order the ships will be done? When is Summit to be given the Solstice treatment? I could not remember if it had been revealed yet and did not find it looking through old posts.

Thanks!

T.

There hasn't been any word on the sequence and schedule beyond Constellation other than one ship per year.

Hi Lois- yes thanks we're doing well! We're taking him on his first cruise in December and we're hoping to go by ourselves in March for our anniversary but we're not sure we'll be able to handle leaving the little guy for 2 weeks!

Sounds like it'll be a nice upgrade! I wonder how many things have changed since I sailed last. There were still Gourmet Bites and the Grand Buffet and the cheese cart last time we cruised and I was told those things are gone.
