Thanks Kelly!

 

I have been searching the site daily and hoping there would be pictures of an HC cabin and there on page 9 were the pics you posted. The cabin looks great.

 

Thank you guys so much for all the work you have done making the video, blogging, messaging, doing the legwork and research. :)

sorry to piss YOU off "buddy", but the aft of the ship and the entire aft pool IS adults only. and your money doesn't allow you to break the rules, so keep your kid away from the aft deck and it's adults-only pool. enjoy your trip!

FINGERS CROSSED (but not holding my breath ;)) a non-smoking casino on NCL would truly be EPIC!! I love that about the casinos on Celebrity.

After reading other reviews it would seem the casino is NOT non smoking much to my dismay given that it so open and spreads for 'miles' and appears to be a major thoroughfare through to various restaurants and bar areas.

 

Being from the UK where we have a no smoking policy in public places I know my husband and daughter will hate this, as I will. I'm not against those that chose to smoke, I just didnt realise the casino would be so open with literally restaurants off it, ahh well, maybe it won't be too bad, will keep reading for reviews of that.

 

I must admit, We may of had the odd flutter but can't see that happening now, just hope the air con works well even though i've read that the smoke does indeed drift into other areas. Stupidly of me I assumed the casino would have doors!!

 

I understand why they allow smoking as it is to keep the revenue flowing, heaven forbid a person enjoying the cassino should be tempted out of there for a smoke or even food for that matter.

On a couple of our Celebrity sailings they brought around trays of snacks late in the evening - that certainly helps to keep gamblers in there and playing!

 

Perhaps we will be "lucky" on the Epic and find that they installed some great ventilation/air exchangers in the casino area. I sure hope so... though I have hoped that on other ships to only find clouds of smoke floating in the air. :(

So there are restaurants near the casino, and the casino is not walled off? On my. :(

 

If the casino were non-smoking, I guarantee I would be gambling away quite a bit of money each night! But I suppose the smoking indeed will keep me away. But now I fear the surrounding restaurants will also have to be avoided if that smoke-smell wafts over to them! :(

Where can kids get pizza and free ice cream without the $5.00 charge? Thank you.

 

 

The Garden Cafe had a selection of pizza and ice cream. Ice cream wise, there was also a self-service soft serve ice cream machine in there too.

I had a couple of questions about menus from the main dining venues (Manhattan and Taste), so here is a sample for you:

 

Starters:

 

*Spinach, pear, blue cheese & pine nut salad with pesto dressing

*Vegetable samosa with cucumber mint sauce

*Roasted tomato soup with herb focaccia

 

Main Course:

 

*Chicken & shrimp curry with basmati rice & mango chutney

*Grilled pork chop with stone ground grits and Swiss chard

*Linguini & sun dried tomatoes with basil cream

 

 

Desserts (this is from memory as they didn't have menus to take away!)

*Key lime pie

*Cheesecake

*Cheese & biscuits

I have seen a photo floating about somewhere of an actual buffet area within the casino on EPIC , can't remember who took the photo but i think most probably it is one HeinBloeds fab pics :)

 

Yes I must admit the smoke aspect now worries me, I really had thought the casino would have doors to help eliminate the smoke floating into other areas somewhat, clearly i'm naive over that! I also hadnt expected so many of the bars and restaurants to be just off the casino, naive again it seems.

 

We do not sail on her until Aug 2011 so I will be reading more reviews over this, would be a shame to have to rethink a holiday we are so excited about :(

From the reviews I have read and even the CC video posted that Carolyn made it certainly seems that this is the case. No closed off area and restaurants and bars all leading off the casino - certainly Shanghais does and Taste is just below and open to the above deck where the casino is.

 

I also feel the same, if it were non smoking we would certainly have a flutter a number of times, it is actually something we had looked forward to doing as it's not a thing we do at home.
