On a ship like this a library is a waste of space!! :D:eek::D Need more discos! :D

I agree totally....but remember...I said my parents. When my Mom asked me that queston last night after I sent her links to all the pics...I really had no response...then I said..ya know...out of all of the Epic questions...you two are the only ones that actually cared. Then I said...Mom...that's why G-d created Holland America...you might need to rethink this cruise.. ;)

ROFLMAO! Yeah... Holland America indeed for libraries and rolling up the carpets at 10PM. I'd never go on them until I'm in my elder years (I'm sure I'm going to get a virtual beating for saying that for sure). :p Hmm... you know I really don't think the Epic appeals to the older crowd. There's nothing much sedate about the ship other than eating in 21 different places. The ship is designed for an action, hip style and I guess a library doesn't factor into that. Hope your parents still decide to go! :D

Are you kidding..they're going. My last comment was...pack some freaking books and make your own library...it's not like you won't find the space to do it in (ummm..hello...like your balcony or the Spa...since you are in a Deluxe Spa Balcony?)

Not that I care...I'll be too busy getting my Martini's on...but my Parents wanted to know if there's a library onboard? Really? LOL I checked the deck plans but didn't see one.

Thanks!

I'm told the library is located between the 3 meeting/bridge rooms and the internet cafe on deck 5. Personally, I would have preferred they had closed a disco (or two) for a larger library and larger cigar bar. But the Irish Pub will make up for it. :D

LOL! I love it! How many books do your parents go through on a cruise? Bring it along and leave it behind and they can start their own libraries! :D

I have no clue since we've only done 3 day type of family reunion type cruises with them. We wanted them to see how the "living and breathing" sail, and have them go to a bar that doesn't serve Geritol on tap. That being said..we'll probably only see them for pre-dinner drinks and dinner, and maybe a show or two...other than that...my DH and I will be getting our "Epic" on.. :D

Thanks Uniall!

If your parents are computer savy have them buy a kindle or sony ereader and download their books onto it. It will save them them space and you can get cheaper prices than the actual book in some cases.

Hi--I'm a casino lover (and I'm sure I'm not the only one!).Can you tell us anything about the Epic's casino? Are there a lot of slots and what's the popular denomination--dollars, pennies?. Can you see if there are newer machines/games? AND I totally understand if you haven't had a chance to check it out--we'll just have to wait and see for ourselves. Enjoy yourselves.

LOL...I told them about Kindles...their statement to me was..."We live in Miami...what do we need with firewood?". Seriously...I'm already their official helpdesk...I don't need something else to support.

I have been told that the "premium" seats are the tables closest to the stage in the centre of the tent. Personally, I don't think it matters too much where you sit as you can get a good view from the outside areas, too.

The circle seating upstairs looked like it had good views down on the stage -- but this offers seats going round the edge, so you won't be sitting on big tables

>>>

Ok - so are the $20 tables around the edge only for 2 per table??? We have a party of 8 -- thought perhaps we could get 2 tables for 4 -- no??

I'd like to know before making those pre-reservations. Thanks!

LOL! You could "loan" them a Kindle and keep it after the cruise. :D

My understanding is that your reservation only guarantees which section and show you get not the specific seat or table within that section.

Hi Kelly,

I do have three questions for you. 1) What kind of beer is available on tap at O'Sheehans? 2) What are the minimums for the casino table games (specifically craps, roulette and blackjack), and do these minimums change from day to night? 3) Is there a "rapid roulette" table in the casino? There was one in the Jade casino so I'm hoping there is one in the Epic. Minimum for that?

These questions really make me sound like a hardcore drinker and gambler... but really I'm asking in anticipation for my boyfriend who is cruising with me, because I know he'll be asking me! Thank you SO MUCH for offering to do some investigative work for all of us!

Enjoy your trip,

Jamie

Hi Carol

I've attached a few photos from the studio cabin (11513) that was open for us to look at during the cruise.

Now, I didn't see a hair dryer -- but I was told by a steward that they do have them. I always bring my own, just in case!

There are two wardrobes in the studio (not huge, but then this is a compact space!), plus other storage space in the form of baskets, so I think you will have enough room. There were only a couple of coat hangers in each wardrobe, but I think this was because it was being used as a display cabin. In my cabin (balcony cabin), I had about 8-10 hangers in each wardrobe.

Afraid there are no in-cabin tea or coffee making facilities in the studios though -- sorry! You can get this in the Living Room.

The cabins are snug, but I really liked the cool colours and the soft pink/red/blue lighting in the studios. They have a really contemporary vibe to them and I can see the appeal for solos. Also, the fact that they have a circular window that looks onto the corridor (people can't see in of course), gets rid of any inside cabin claustrophobia worries.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you so, so much for taking the time to do this Kelly, you're a star. :)

Carol
