Will a large suitcase fit under the bed

on the Brilliance? We are planning on bringing a 29" suitcase that is about 11" deep. will it fit?

I have never been able to put a suitcase under the bed. The end up going in the closet.

If it won't slide under, simply LIFT the bedframe...it will fit.

We always manage to get our 28' suitcase under the bed, so I would think yours would fit.

Sometimes you have to lift up the bed a small amount and then slide it in.

Our first cruise on RCL - we had the luggage stuffed in the closet. Takes way too much room.

After that we learned the trick - lift the bedframe - and everything fits - lots more room. :D

Yes, it will fit. More than one will fit. We actually put 2 very large suitcases and 2 duffles that lay [squashed down] flat.

I have the Ricardo, 36" full size porter luggage and it has fit under every bed except when we were on the Radiance. For some reason that ship had an odd design.

Even if it won't fit closed, just open it up and it will surely fit that way.

Lifting the frame is the key. It's often an inch or more closer to the floor. We put our carry ons and smaller bags inside big bags and they all fit. Your room steward will help you if you have a problem lifting the edge of the bed.

Some folks use their suitcases that are stowed under the bed to lock away larger valuables, ie: camera lens', laptop.

In hotels, sometimes that area under the bed is a dirty, nasty "no-man's-land" kind of place that I wouldn't want to put anything - not so on a cruise ship? Do they clean under there regularly, no dust bunnies?

The area under the beds on a cruise ship is kept cleaner than those in a hotel, at least that's what I've seen. But, we usually store at least one bag open on the end in the closet for dirty clothes the rest are put under the bed. For me this saves time packing at the end of the cruise as I'll just reposition the clothes, put shoes in on top and close the bag. Then when we get home that bag gets unpacked in the luandry room.

The area underneath beds on cruise ships will always be cleaner than in hotel rooms. Mainly because the beds are being moved around-some passengers want the beds in twins and the next passengers will want them put together. So the stewards pretty much have to clean under them as they move them around.

From personal experience it will fit. You may need to lift the bed a bit to get it under the frame. Once placed under the bed you won't know it is there

 

One word of warning, ask that your spouse don't sit on the bed while doing this procedure.

We pull out the sofa a little bit into the room and stand our big suitcases on end behind it. We can still drop things into the suitcases, and it gives us another "table" to use.

The attendents store some of the bedding under the beds but there is lots of room for two large suitscases. We also use the area behind the sofa foe our small carry-ons.

Indeed it is. I missed this one on its first go round.

 

Never thought about storing the suitcases open under the bed.

Never thought about storing the suitcases behind the sofa.
