C&A coupon books

There were quite a few posts asking about the C&A coupon books early in Jan. We were on Navigator Jan. 10-15 and our coupon books were the ones dated to expire 12/2010. I expect that all ships will use up these coupons that are on hand before anyone sees "new" ones with a 2011 expiration date. Anyone have a different experience?

My memory is sketchy on this, but I thought I remember noticing on my recent Majesty cruise that the coupon books were somehow marked as to be good for that sailing only. "I remember thinking, I guess I won't sell these on Ebay" (This was my last Gold coupon book, so I probably wouldn't have found it to be worthwhile anyway.)

Someone posted a photo from a page with new C & A levels. Must be a 2011.

Just off Explorer last Sunday. They were still using the coupon books which expired 12/31/2010.

Our coupons had the 12/10 expiration date.

Same thing on Monarch this weekend. The expired coupons were still accepted.

Yes, the coupons do say something like "good for this sailing only" and have for some time.

The new coupon books for 2011 have been printed but until the BIG announcement is made, can not be handed out as they have the 2 new levels printed on the last page that C&A denies knowing anything about.:D

 

Here is a listing of the Current C&A Ultimate Value Booklet for Gold, Platinum, Diamond & Diamond Plus being left in cabins. They did expire 12/31/10 but on our EN cruise on 12/27 this is what we received.

 

What you see listed in the current books will most likely remain with possibly a few additions.

Going on Allure on the Feb 13th sailing. Are gold members are allowed to use diamond or diamond plus coupons. Do they scan your seapass and verify?>

How does the process work? I think wife bought some on ebay couple of months back.

It's hit or miss. You are not supposed to be able to use coupons from a higher level. However, some times they allow it, other times they don't.

Your C&A level is tied to your onboard account. On one of our cruises, we tried to use the second internet coupon. Since the first one was used on my wife's seapass card when she opened the internet account, the second one could only be used if I opened a second account. Even though GS accepted the coupon, the discount was ultimately rejected since hers was the only active account.

 

I expect that if you try to use a D or D+ coupon, it may be "accepted" at the POP, but may be rejected once it hits your onboard account.

Was on liberty in november. Saw gold member use diamond + coupons at the time of purchase, it was accepted.

The Internet Coupons really don't appear on your SeaPass Account as a credit after you have turned them in.........they are sort of hidden in the system and will only tell you how much time you have left when you sign in. However, if you go over your credit amount..........your SeaPass Account will then show a charge for Internet Use.

Similar experience when wife was doing grad work. Had several coupons applied with no issues at all.

Casino coupons aren't a problem. They never take the time to look at them. Other places, like the Spa, will probably only let you use them if it matches your SeaPass. My daughter and I went to the spa. I gave one of my Diamond coupons for my daugter to use. They didn't allow it because her SeaPass was Platinum. I've used two internet coupons on a cruise and haven't had a problem. It's worth a try.

I purchased Diamond C&A books for our honeymoon cruise in 2008 on Ebay. The only place I had trouble using the coupon was to purchase photos at the end of the cruise. Upon looking at our sail and sign card, they noticed we were not even Gold members and refused to accept the coupon. We utilized every coupon in the books with exception of Johnny Rockets since our ship didn't have one, so it was still a lot of revenue for the ship. I haven't tried the ebay coupon thing again since we now receive coupon books with every sailing and they are labeled to be specific to each sailing.

so it is the worth it. What are the coupons in the Diamond Plus booklet anyway, I think it expires on DEC 31, 2010

We're on Radiance in 6 weeks. Have a boatload of coupons from past two cruises that we didn't have time to use. Will try using them all this time around and see what happens.
