Matt Sole is leaving Serenade to take the Rhapsody to Asia apparently and Carly B will be the new CD on Serenade. Matt is there at present.

Cruise directors tend to work shorter contracts but I think it's still 4-6 months on and then 2 off.

Kirk Detweiler is coming on the Radiance when Kieron Buffery leaves the ship on 8/24/07. Kieron will be on the Navigator in October. A permanent replacement has not been announced yet. We just got off the Radiance this past Friday 8/10/07. A fantastic cruise with Kieron and Captain Rune Lokling. Captain Rune goes on vacation 9/7.

Thanks for the info. We were looking forward to seeing Allan again (he was on Serenade in 2003). Oh well. How is Dave the Bingo Boy? Not that it matters- it a short 5 night hop down to Bermuda and we'll be ashore for 2 full days (and one night!).

Carly Boileau, came on board the Serenade on 12 May 2007, took over from Matt Sole on the 19 May sailing; Matt will be the CD on our 05 October sailing to Hawaii, according to C&A. Not sure where Carly will be going after her vacation.

We had him on AOS back in 2004, and he wasn't very dynamic or engaging. In fact, he remains our least favorite CD. However, cruisecritics who have sailed with Kirk more recently have posted quite favorable reviews of him, so it sounds like he's gotten better over the years.,

Does anybody know about Kirk Detweiler?

We have cruised twice with Kirk, once back in '91 when he was soooo young, and loads of fun and then in Feb. '07 on the Voyager. He is very involved, friendly, and easy to talk to- as well as seen most everywhere. He also has quite a good voice, and often starts out the evening shows with one of his renditions ( that we have all 3 CD's of his). He leads some of the dance classes, and is a joy to be with. Yea, I am probably one of his biggest ( oldest) fans.:) :D

I disagree. Kirk Detweiler is a great CD, not the best, but certainly not the worst. Clo is my favorite CD so far, with Kirk a close second.

Has anyone had Peter Bendfield as the CD. We enjoyed him on the BOS 2004 E Caribbean cruise. We will be enjoying our 2nd Radiance Class during our Oct 11 , 2008 Hawaii Cruise.
