I usually lurk but just wanted to say how much I enjoy your Live posts. The pics and experiences you and trainman have posted helped pushed us to book Oasis next year!

So fun to see you in Portland. I spent a lot of summers in one of the nicest harbor towns in Maine (Boothbay Harbor).

It was funny that you mentioned how safe it was - I don't think there is is a "bad" are in Maine! Small town america meets lobster.

Glad you enjoyed your stay in the harbah!

Just watched your newest video of the Allure. Love your videos! The music, the views, the pictures - capture exactly what I love about cruising. I will have to try my hand at this after my next cruise. Thank you for your videos and live reviews - they are awesome! :D

Radio: thank you for doing this. I am looking forward to following along with you. I'm looking to potentially be on this ship in January out of Baltimore, so I am especially loving the pictures your'e taking of the ship itself. I was on the Carnival Pride last February out of Baltimore, and I loved the ease of being able to drive to the port (Bayonne/NY would be closer, but Baltimore is just... easier and usually less money).

Love what you've posted so far! Keep it coming :)

Hi Radio!

My husband, parents, and I will be on the EOS on the 8 Sept sailing. We are really looking forward to it and I'm loving following your day-to-day postings and photos! Thank you!

Have two questions for you?

1. I noted that you are using wi-fi hotspots within the ship. Are they free hotspots or are you on some ship plan that will allow you so many minutes? I was planning to bring my ipad (and Android), and was curious about the ability to answer my emails.

2. I am an avid wildlife seeker and would like to ask that between your journey from Portland to Bar Harbor and beyond if you would watch for the wildlife? Specifically looking to know if there are whales along the journey.

We just returned from a trip to Yellowstone and have tons of wonderful photos that I took with my Sony DSC-H10 :) (I have since changed to the Sony HX100 v/b. There are a bit more 'automated' features but as you well know, you can't beat the pictures and quality it offers. The HX100 has 30x zoom...which will allow me to get a little bit closer without actually disturbing the wildlife by physically getting closer. :D

Lynn

Radio, we would also like to know how long the jogging path is...or how many times around makes a mile.

Thanks!

Highly enjoying your report, Radio. This is the first time I've ever really seen on board pics of Enchantment. She looks like a nice ride. Speaking of rides, are we going to see shots of you on the bungee/jumping thing?????

Beautifully inviting pics of port. I've considered doing this trip, for something different, so real curious to see how it goes for you. As neat as it is pulling up to an "exotic" port; I think there's a lot to be said for pulling up to "small town America" on a ship. Your pics feel so homey. We know you're traveling, but the pics make it feel so very familiar. I think that's why I'd be interested in trying this trip in the future.

When do you, or anyone, recommend is the best time of year for good weather? I saw that you had a BEAUTIFUL sea day yesterday, so August is duly noted. But how does everyone feel about early October? That's what I've toyed with to see the fall colors in New England.

Good Morning everyone. . .Welcome to Day 4 of “LIVE” from the Enchantment of the Seas!

Oh yeah. And I guess I should say “Welcome to Bar Harbor”

We navigated through the channel before sunrise, and the pilot came aboard as the sun came up. It was interesting to see the path that Enchantment took to zig zag through the Lobster traps. . .There were thousands of them that I could see from the ship. . . The appeared top be in groups of about 200 each.

We anchored off the coast of Bar Harbor by 7AM as scheduled, and the Shore Excursion Tenders were docking with Enchantment for excursion passengers to go ashore.

The ships tenders started being used at about 7:30. I should be getting off the ship today around 9-10AM. The last tender back to the ship today will be at 4:30PM.

The weather today will be sunny, with clear skies most of the day. The forecast is for a high of 76F. It is a little cool now (63F) but the area is beautiful, and I am anxious to go ashore.

Thanks for tuning in. . .

We are greeted early this morning with an lovely sunrise.

When the sun starts to come up we can see land !

We can see that the shore line seems to be covered by this cloud like mist.

SU7.JPG

The “mist” seems to extend at the base of Cadillac Mountain. . .Just above a beautiful estate.

SU8.JPG

We passed several of these small islands. . .

We have anchored in Bar Harbor

Good Morning Radio :)

Have a fantastic day in Bar Harbor - does this mean more lobster? There can never truly be enough lobster, so enjoy! I am envious!

Remember, I grew up in Halifax and know the city pretty well - so if you have any questions.....

Loving this report :D

Hey Radio -

I'm looking at the live Geddy's web cam http://www.geddys.com/geddycams/videocam/ in Bar Harbor. Time is 9:18 am EDST. What are you wearing?

The fog is still over the harbor and I can't even see the cruise ship.

Enjoy Bar Harbor!

I'll be checking back as time allows.

How true and also love the Canadian towns so quaint and picturesque.

Last year we did the Carnival Glory at the end of September and it was beautiful. The trees were starting to turn and the weather was wonderful. We had calm seas until the last day and they had about 6-10 swells but it didn't bother us, but some folks were a little seasick.

Radio, beautiful pictures with the fog/mist rising.

Radio,

Hope you enjoy your day in Bah Habah. Have a claw, or two for me please. Pete will just have to settle for his 8 tails, Lobstah that is, in the MDR in Nov. Oh, and don't forget the love of my life for a bite, or three of sweet lobster.

Thanks, Smooth sailing the rest of the report.
