My Horizon cruise, Oct 6, they did call out all the names of those who missed it and stated a time and place for their make-up drill. They scanned our cards to check us in.

And after a Princess cruise we took 6 years ago, I posted here on CC that Carnival could take a lesson from its sister company and have all S&S cards scanned for muster drill attendance compliance.  Just took Carnival 5 years to implement.

 

Interesting how some will post use the scan function to find that topic, we discussed it umpteenth times already, but then an old post resurfaces, and some will point out its age.  Guess you can get blasted from either direction.

On the Triumph this past April our sign and sail Cards were scanned. Never missed one in16 cruises. Kinda feels like the official start of  the  cruise..

We just accept it as part and parcel of the cruising experience. I've been an educator for over 40 years and know that as much as we hate drills for fire, tornado, emergencies, and lock-ins, they are necessary for preparedness,

Although the drill is a "Buzz Killer" we still do it. Actually met some great ppl during the muster drill. It is so much better now then it was say 10yrs ago. imo
