Diamond plus & Labadee

D+ is not provided that private beach perk. It is for suite guests and those who rent a cabana.

As stated you must have paid access to reap the bennies. We were on Freedom in May this year and scored a Cabana. As D+ you can check in with the Concierge Lounge concierge the evening before Labadee and you go on a stand by list for a Cabana. If there are not enough Suite guests interested in signing up you will be chosen in the order that you signed up. That was our recent experience. I understand that other levels of C&A can apply but have no personal knowledge of that.

Is the consensus of opinion here that D+ guests are not allowed into the Barefoot beach area unless they rent a cabana?

Yes –

It is not an opinion – but rather the fact.

Barefoot Beach is a Suite perk. There are limited cabanas for rental. They are offered to suite guests first (for rental) and if there are any remaining, they are offered to other passengers. Sorry – I am not sure if there is any “pecking order” to rent any remaining cabanas or if it is first come , first served.

Anyone else who has gotten in has likely done so by inappropriate means.

Enjoy

The pecking order is by C&A status. I don't know if they further go by number of days. So PC, then D+, etc.

The private area at Labadee is just like the suite seating area at the pool - there is a sign that clearly says that you need to show your gold (suite) seapass card. Of course, there are always a few gold-level C&A members that think they got a nice perk right off the bat.

This is my point, they have private seating around the pool and in the showroom, BUT the sign says suite and Diamond plus only. at least that is what they had on the Enchantment. This is the same as the consierge lounch, Suite and D+ only

The sign at Labadee does not say suite & D+ only. It says suite only, although they also will have a list of any non-suite pax who have reserved a cabana. There are a number of suite perks that aren't D+ perks as well, including pool seating, unless that has recently changed - the reserved area is for full suites only. You may find that some ships deviate from the rule in some areas, but I wouldn't count on it happening. If you want to get into Barefoot Beach, you will either either need to pay for a full suite or hope that you can reserve a cabana.

This is what the sign looks like at Barefoot Beach at Labadee. It has the same wording that the pool and show lounge seating has.

I thought I read somewhere the special lounge seating and special seating for the aqua show on Oasis and Allure were for both Diamond Plus and for guests booked Grand Suites or higher? Did I read it wrong?

No, and the reserved seating for suite guests, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Crown and Anchor members, is now a feature on most, if not all, of RCI's ships in the theater and at the pools.

We were on the Allure for the 8/28 cruise and are D+. I requested to be placed on the waiting list the week before (we did a B2B) but unfortunately, there were none available. Evidently there were fewer available because the strong winds the week before damaged some of the cabanas. It was our

40th anniversary and thought it would be a nice treat.

We were not allowed the use of the area.

This was our experience.

This is a suite perk. You have to show your gold seapass and you get a wrist band. I suppose it would be possible for someone to go to Nellie's beach and swim around the point to Barefoot beach, but they wouldn't be able to get services without the wrist band.

Quote from another thread

"

Just off the Freedom yesterday. We were interested in the rental of a cabana on Labadee. I visisted the concierge in the lounge on Monday. There was no problem reserving one (actually we reserved two due to the number of people in our party). We were in E1, E2, and peomenade staterooms. We met the concierge when we arrived in Labadee and he escorted us to the dock where we took the limo (golf cart) to Barefoot beach. We were handed over to the Labadee concierge, given wristbands, introduced to the cabana attendant, and enjoyed a wonderful day. Float mats, snorkel gear, a cooler of water, and a great lunch (including steak and shrimp) were provided at no additional charge. Also the limo was available to take us around the island whenever we felt like leaving the cabana area. It was a wonderful experience and we would definetly book one again. "

I am wondering if on the larger ships, like Allure and Oasis, they do not allow D+ because there are so many suites therefore many more people.

Maybe the smaller ships have different rules.

This is fleet wide. Barefoot Beach is suite perk (and for those who rent a cabana) regardless of the ship. It is NOT a D+ perk on any ship

If you are interested in Barefoot Beach you need to be a suite passenger or rent a cabana. If you are traveling with others, not in a suite they will not be given access. If you rent cabana it will provide access to a total of 6. ( regardless of accommodations)

Enjoy

This is a good summary of the situation. We have been to Barefoot Beach twice, once when we and our family were in the Royal Family Suite and rented a cabana for the six of us, and once, on Jewel of the Seas in an Outside Stateroom on Deck 3, when, as Diamond Plus members, we rented a cabana for my wife and myself and a fellow passenger. Had we not rented a cabana when we were on the Jewel, our Crown and Anchor status would not have qualified us for admission to Barefoot Beach.
