Happy New Year.We where on a cruise in the china sea over the new year about 6 years ago.We had services and when it was over I said the new year in the states dosnt start for another 12 hours. One woman asked if we had to do the whole service over again. Told her no we din't.

We've been on cruises over Rosh Hashanah and Passover. Cruise lines have a rabbi on board for services. On one Passover the chef did an admirable job in creating the Seder meal, and they had part of the main dining room set aside for the Seder. Haven't been on a Yom Kippur cruise though -- sure must be hard to fast on a cruise ship!
