herbanrenewal Posted December 9, 2011 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2011 On behalf of the staff and crew of Navigator of the Seas®, I'd like to thank you for sailing with us on our Transatlantic Crossing cruise vacation and giving us the opportunity to send you home with an experience to remember. After all, it's not every day you get to bask amidst the golden sands of the Canary Islands. Or stand atop the Rock of Gibraltar. Or stroll the cobblestone streets of Lisbon and Barcelona. Now more than ever, taking a vacation is an important decision, which is why Royal Caribbean International® is always looking for new ways to give you better activities and adventure at a great value. We look forward to welcoming you onboard again soon. Sincerely, You'd think the CEOs office would at least sent out thanks mentioning ports you were supposed to go to...only 1 of 4 ports mentioned were on the itinerary! This Thanks doesn't seem too authentic when it doesn't get the facts right.

Well, that is funny. and technically, he is correct it is not everyday that you do any of those things...certainly not on your specific cruise...maybe you should book another one or two or three so you can complete his list of special experiences...:D. negc Posted December 9, 2011 #3 Share Posted December 9, 2011 I am certain that Adam Goldstein knows the itineraries sailed by his ships but he is apparently less observant when it comes to things being sent from his office over his signature. Hopefully he has, by now, had some words with whomever was responsible for this kind of mess up. We received a similar missive after our westbound TA. Competent proof-reading and fact checking staffers are apparently in short supply at RCI headquarters.
Ocean Boy Posted December 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2011 Maybe the folks sending out Adam's e-mails are in training to be customer service reps.?
RoyalDiamond Posted December 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2011 I got the exact same e-mail, with the exception of the ship name.....we were on the Liberty transatlantic. At least that was correct....

will773 Posted December 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Canary Islands OR Rock of Gibraltar OR Lisbon and Barcelona If it was one of these three , then it is correct I disagree. Why would he mention those other cities if the cruise didn't go there?
wayne_trisha Posted December 10, 2011 #8 Share Posted December 10, 2011 Canary Islands OR Rock of Gibraltar OR Lisbon and Barcelona If it was one of these three , then it is correct While technically correct, if it makes the past cruiser wonder *** he is talkng about, it is bad marketing. Such a simple email should not provoke such questions.
NordicPrince Posted December 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2011 He must have been working thru his lunch break when he wrote this - NOT. The man is a CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation, do you actually think he sends these things out personally? and why is this such a big deal? You went on the cruise, you enjoyed yourself so let it go. If every time we make a mistake there is somebody ready to pounce on us it would make life difficult don't you think? Give a break to the little people whose jobs it is to put this stuff together.

However, one of the things that so many of us appreciate about RCI is that they typically get the "little things" right. So when someone messes up something that should have been easy to get right, then yeah, it can be a little irksome. And if the "little people" can't be trusted to get the little things right, how can they be trusted to be promoted to positions of greater responsibility? Screw up my cruise and then we've got an issue.

EVALUATOR Posted December 10, 2011 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2011 For about 7 cruises in a row, the day before leaving we would get a discount coupon e-mail for using the spa services...for the Liberty. The coupons were only good on the "current" Liberty cruise we were about to begin. Might have been valuable if we were going on the Liberty. When I called and asked why we were getting the coupons for the wrong ship, they actually argued with me saying I wasn't getting them until I forwarded the e-mails I received to Mr. Emnott Knowing.
