Crown and Anchor teams up with M Life is official!

Recommended Posts

Hey, did anybody find out anything yet? :D

Can you indeed get a free cruise because of your Platinum M Life status given to you simply by being Diamond Plus?

I was digging back through my emails on this topic. Here is one I received from Mlife (through Facebook) a few months ago:

Good Afternoon,

The M life Platinum status will expire each year on Sept 30. After that, you can go to an M life desk or call VIP Casino services to have your tier set back to Platinum. Yes, effectively your Platinum Tier will never expire as long as you renew via one of the previous methods mentioned.

The Platinum card alone does not automatically qualify that member for the complimentary cruise. Only M life members who earned Platinum tier through their gaming and non-gaming spend will be sent a promotional offer for the annual complimentary cruise. Members who were awarded the tier from another relationship program, such as Ameristar, do not qualify for this benefit.

Thank you for your patience,

-M life Social

I'm thoroughly confused by this thread. Obviously we all understand the C&A tiers. What are the sort of equivalent MLife tiers? Sounds like C&A status gets you some type of equivalent MLife status, so when you go to Vegas you can get some of the perks in the casinos. But it only lasts a year if you don't gamble enough to maintain that status? And similarly MLife status can give you status in C&A? So if you gamble a lot one year and make some MLife status you can instantly be a higher C&A level?

As a lowly Platinum and an infrequent Vegas gambler, I guess I'm wondering if I should bring my MLife card to show to the dealer when I'm gambling on the ship. Or does it really matter? Will I accumulate MLife rating points while on a ship?

M-Life status does not give you status in C&A, however it does give you some similar perks:

I don't see how you think even Platinum Casino level for RCCL member is such a big deal........I imagine you are only invited to join NOIR by your level of play or maybe if you are Pinnacle (700 days of cruising.) To be first in line and 20% off of high priced merchandise "Hmmmmmmmmmm let me hasten to this deal....."

We are not big rollers but will be staying at Beau Rivage next Week with Rooms Free and have not registered for RCCL MLife yet.......

C&A has to be invited to NOIR and I have not read anywhere that Casino Mlife will be joining us in the Diamond Lounges.

I think this is all well and good but why? To try to build up casino business on both ends and it is a good business decision. The more the casinos make the cheaper our cruises will be........let her rip.

The above is my opinion only......and I'm sticking to it.

Diamond (140 days)

and counting :-)

We had a couple on our last cruise in the diamond lounge. They had never cruised before and said they got comped the whole cruise due to mlife status. This was a 7 night out of San Juan over spring break. No reason to doubt them as they were totally clueless about the cruise and how things worked.

They had a gold card. Said they could hang in the concierge lounge, but preferred diamond. They weren't in a suite though.

So I'm thinking they were the highest level in mlife? Wife said she gambled a lot (slots at max bet). They lived in SoCal and went to Vegas all the time.

Was wondering if anyone had updates on their experiences having benefits applied to sailing. Not so much the free sailings bit drinks and dining.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

We took our free MLife sailing a couple of weeks ago on the Enchantment thanks to my platinum MLife status.

Sticker for the sea pass ensuring fee free chip purchases. Was given ten free drink coupons as well as dinner at Chops. We also received a credit on our shipboard account to cover the 30 minutes of free internet.

We never did receive the coupon booklet, which was told would be the same one that diamond guests received (we did receive our two diamond booklets owing to our C&A level).

thanks for the great info Tom. Did you have to show your mlife card to get your free drink coupons? We are wondering if we need to take them with us in a few weeks when we go on the Rhapsody

We took a cruise on the Allure this year and we called RC in advance to let them know we were Mlife members. They told us to show up at the Casino and talk to the manager for our promos. Night one, we met with the Casino host who told us we would be getting a coupon book. Since we already had the Emerald coupon book, nothing further was sent to us. We got 10 drink vouchers for the casino (which we had no problem using) In addition, we received dinner for two at the Samba Grille.

There was one nteresting thing-they put a sticker on your Seapass that is supposed to allow you entry into the shows. We showed our card to the person at the gate for Oceanaria, and she had no idea what the sticker was for. She asked if we were with a convention group or something. She was not going to let me at all costs. Luckily our friends had reservations for 4 and we got to sit down and watch the show. We never tried to use the sticker on the card again after that.

Once at home, we reviewed our final bill and I did see that RC still charged me for pulling money out in the Casino. I wrote them an email and they refunded me $14.

All in all, it was very nice to have a few extras, mostly unexpected. Good job to RC and Mlife.

Tom, We are Diamond Plus with C/A and our status at Mlife because of that is currently Platinum. If I understand what you posted above correctly, we don't have to have the 200,000 tier credits each year in order to keep the Platinum status with MLife???

I'm not sure why I continue to have such a hard time understanding this thread. Am I correct in thinking the following?

1. Essentially, Crown and Anchor and MLife now have some kind of shared tier status.

2. Some people become higher status with MLife based on their C&A status, but this status needs to be "renewed" every year. But since your C&A status never changes, then shouldn't you always be the same MLife status? Why make you renew every year?

3. Some people become higher status with C&A based on their MLife status. (I think this is the less common of the two scenarios.) But, since MLife status does depend on yearly gambling and spending, the C&A status gained does reset every year. So if you achieved Diamond status one year via your gambling but then the next year you didn't gamble enough, you might only qualify for Platinum?

I understand your confusion. We are D in C&A, so gold in MLife. Soon we will be D+, so our level will increase in MLife.

How can you benefit from MLife perks if you need to renew every year in the casino when you arrive for your visit. If that is the case then all you are really getting is a line pass for the buffet:confused:

Maybe someone can help... Tom are you out there????

That's my understanding. Pretty sweet if you ask me, as getting those 200K points is - so I understand it - harder to earn now.

I've been Platinum with Mlife for a couple years, but have not put in any Vegas time since last September... thus we'll get kicked all the way down the ladder. Not all the way I suppose, as Diamond will get us something with them... not much though! If I don't gear up and manage some points, then I won't be entitled to the complimentary RCI sailing next year. Of course, one can easily donate many (tens) of thousands in the pursuit of "goals' such as Platinum status. I will continue the way I would normally play, otherwise the "free' earned cruise would be anything but!

I am here! :)

Apparently you can call MGM "VIP Casino Services" to have that change made in their system. I suppose I'll find out for myself come 10/1 !!

Vegas was amazing. Hotter than... Well you know the expression. Getting our MLife Gold Card was easy though.

Our room was spectacular. I think I watched every fountain show when we were in the room. We did see the tower rooms from the pool and you are right, that would be a long walk to most everywhere in the Bellagio.

We never did get the medium rare burger at 2am, but I bet it is good. We might be back there in September this year, or next year for sure.

We also cleared $520 on the nickel slots. We played 4 times for a total of 35-40 minutes. We broke them. :D

Ok, I just sent an email to C & A as well as MLife. I asked some of those very questions. As soon as I get a response I will let you know. I also want to know if you remain Platinum status if you are coming from RCI into MLife as a Diamond Plus member and don't hit the 200,000 tier credits each year with MLife.

According to what they emailed me, the answer would be yes. Thus it seems that "once your work is done" (you've reached D+), you are a perputual Platinum! Going the other way (Mlife to RCI perks) you have to work each year for your Mlife status to gain anything with RCI.

YEP - Vegas is something else. Cheryl and I REALLY need to plan another trip... I've got that Vegas itch!

There is something mesmerizing about the fountain shows. Some are truly moving!

$520 is a lot of nickels! :D CONGRATS

Yes it is a lot of nickels. Lisa hit the 2nd highest pay out playing a max bet. It payed almost $500. We don't fool ourselves though, I also subtracted what we spent in the previous total. We only put in $90 for the entire week for the slots. We earned our MLife points in room and food spending.;)

A couple won the progressive slots totalling almost $1.3 million while we're there. They were playing round the clock for a week and hit it at 7am. We chatted with them every night and morning and always wished them the best of luck. They were playing 5 machines, max bet $15 a spin. I calculated that they spend about $300,000 or more more depending on their earnings. They were from Australia and were in Vegas playing poker and thought they would go after the progressive. Well they did it.

Once you get the itch you wanna go back. For us it was about the same cost of a cruise, but laying by the pool on board is easier than walking all over the strip.

I haven't read through all of the posts - but I just took my free cruise last weekend as a result of my Platinum status with M Life. There was a note in my cabin the first day from the casino host of the ship asking me to stop by after the emergency drill. This is where we got our free drink stickers. I never had to show my M Life Platinum card.

Platinum M Life members get a 3, 4 or 5 night cruise to the Bahamas or the Caribbean. Noir members get a 7 night cruise. These are once a year cruises. (These cruises will only be offered to players who earned their M Life tier though gambling and not through room and food purchases.) However, other cruises will still get you the perks of your tier. I booked my second cruise and will still get the 10 free drinks, etc. But you do have to choose between the perks of your RC tier and the perks of your m Life tier.

Being M Life Platinum made me Gold with RC. When I booked my next cruise I had to choose between using my RC offers (a $25 certificate) or using my M Life status perks - (10 free drinks), etc. I chose to use my M Life Platinum perks. 10 free drinks adds up to way more than $25.

Thanks for the good info from your experience.

I am curious since you joined CC this March, are you a Crown and Anchor member for example Diamond or Emerald? Was this your first RC cruise and MLife is your passion? Hope this makes sense.

Yes, this was my first cruise. I only got RC Gold because of my M Life Platinum status. I wouldn't say M Life is my passion :), but I do go to Vegas 2 to 3 times a year.

Let me be the first to welcome you to the cruise world! Vegas is fun but passion is my cruising, well I love cars to. :D

If I had to choose 2 cruise or 2 trips to Vegas, the cruises would win. Airfare is the same either way, but I love to cruise. If you get hooked you will have two passions.;)

So I just made PLatinum mLife on my tip to Vegas last week... Do I call mLife to inquire about booking the cruise? Or do I call RCCL and give them my mlife number?

In other words, what is step 1? All of the Q and A's in this thread have been super helpful about the nitty gritty details of the program. Now I'm ready to get the ball rolling.
