All Things Legend of the Seas (Post Revitalization)

Recommended Posts

90% of the ship all access tour (the bridge, engine control room, galley, back of theater, etc.) is free for the suite guests. Also, the group is considerably smaller in size, so you get to spend more time with the captain, staff captain and the rest.

Yes, Larissa is the concierge.

Enjoy your stay in 8500. It was still amazing to be in that room. Take ear plugs with you. By the way, our bathroom wasn't the only one to have an unpleasant odor. They were working on fixing the plumbing. As a matter of fact, the water was off for a day because of a broken pipe somewhere on the ship.

Lynn, thank you for all your thoughtful help. Yes, we love RS 8500 in the Vision class ships and have never stayed in any other stateroom out of multiple cruises in Vision class ships :)

Received emails from both Larissa and Luca welcoming us for our cruise on the Legend next week. And I sent Luca an email reiterating your great feedback and concern.

Hi Everyone!

I have been scouring the interwebs and CC for information, but have not found anything substantial, so I am here, asking for anything you may know.

I am curious about the fitness facilities. I will be on LG in February for 11 nights, and will have to keep up my workout regimen, as to not fall out of shape :p

How large is the fitness facility? Does the aerobics center have a ballet barre and mirrors? Have you experienced crowds, or have you had to wait for a machine in the center? What do you think is the best (least crowded) time(s) to go?

TIA for any knowledge you have to offer.

I would love photos, if you happen to have any!

:)

Still reading through this thread but I have a question...

In one of the first GREAT posts in this thread, it was mentioned that the gangways are on the PORT side of the ship. We are doing a cruise next year on the Legend and have booked a starboard room. In every port on our Brilliance cruise 2 weeks ago, the gangway was on the starboard side of the ship.

Question...does the Legend always dock with the port side to the dock? Are the gangways ever on the starboard side in ports for this ship?

Thanks! (Back to reading!!)

I need to correct that -- On our Western Med cruise, if I remember correctly, on our Legend cruise this past summer we docked on the STARBOARD side for each (or at least most) of the ports we visited. And note - having a starboard cabin (which allowed me to look out at the dock each morning) on a cruise that sailed to ports east to west allowed us to have a view of the coastline when approaching each of the ports for our particular itinerary.

are they really that low? Are they hard to eat at? We tend to do WJ instead of MDR 90% of the time.

Are there any booths or half-booths in the WJ?

Thanks for the info!

The tables are lower than what most people have in their kitchen/dining room, but, in actuallity, they are not very much lower, and we were able to sit comfortably and eat.

Still no luck with the fitness center information. I know most RCCL ships offer spinning, but I cannot say whether this one does. Anyone?

I do not remember spinning classes being offered, but you can check the compasses from the Western Med itinerary at http://hadleyswanderingsandramblings.blogspot.com/2013/06/legend-of-seas-western-med-cruise.html (NHDisneyLover's blog) - to double check if I missed it. I would assume that if they did not offer it on that itinerary, they do not offer it in general Luckily, the weather was great and I ran each morning on deck, so I did not go into the fitness center.

I took my first spinning class two weeks and enjoyed it (it also allows me to exercise with my DW) - I am replacing one day of running with spinning.

Thank you so much! I did not see a spin class, but I did see Pilates, which is great. Thanks again!

Hi:) We are considering booking 2 cabins for the August 2014 Norway Fjord cruise out of Hamburg, Germany. We are a family of six, all "big", 4 teens will be ages 15 - 17. Wonder if you have suggestions for room configuration. Ideally we'd like to put the 4 teens in one room, with the second room for us. We'd like to splurge (for us) on an outside room as one of the cabins, but probably can't swing the cost of a balcony. So thinking outside ocean view or panoramic window. But what to do with the second room, can it be across the hall? Help! Having trouble negotiating the website to figure this out.

THANKS for any insight you have for us!

Assuming there are interior rooms that sleep 4 (I am not sure if there are on this ship or not) you can officially book the teens in their own room if it is directly across the hall (or right next door) BUT you have to call to do that; it cannot be booked like that on the website.

Your other option is too book the interior room with one of you and three teens and then the outside room with the other adult and one teen in it and then just go to guest services once onboard and get an extra copy of the key to each room so that you can all sleep where you want to when onboard.

You might also consider pricing putting the teens in two interior rooms of two each. Often there is very little price difference for two interiors of two instead of one of four--and then they would have more space and two bathrooms.

To do that, you WOULD have to book one adult in the ocean view stateroom with one teen and then one in an interior with one teen and the other two teens directly next door and then get extra keys at guest services once onboard an sleep where you really want to.

Thank you so much! I did not see a spin class, but I did see Pilates, which is great. Thanks again!

We were on Legend two weeks in the spring on an Asian itinerary and only Pilates was offered. We also found the fitness center to be snug but adequate. It was busy when we went later in the morning but the most you might wait was five minutes for treadmill, elliptical etc.

Yes, $15 per person and offered at least five times during the 15 day Panama Canal Cruise that ended today. Hope that helps...
