Royal Caribbean -- Please Bring Back...

Recommended Posts

It seems to me that with all these "new & improved" menus, ideas and cutbacks, perhaps RCI forgot one thing? How about asking those loyal to the brand? A simple questionnaire to Emerald and above would list areas where they need to cut or think to change and the customer could answer as to their preferences.

They did not forget. The "new and improved menus" are a direct result of customer feedback. It took some time but RCI finally changed the menus.

Song of America 1991 was my 1st cruise~ I'm old:

*Hitting golf balls off the back of the ship (I know, I know - but can't there be a way to do this without killing the sea life? I submit there can)

* SUMO Wrestling (remember?) I'll sign a waiver!

* Less rushing in the dining room and more staff dancing/entertainment. Remember the flaming desserts on their heads or when the kids took over the dining room on Pirate night? The waiters run around like crazy now and seem very distracted. (I would pay more for a slower paced more relaxing/ entertaining dinner with the same waiter. I don't enjoy it anymore)

* Horse racing

* Pub crawls

*Sturdy luggage tags

Bring Back: Getting documents and luggage tags in the mail (w/ no extra charge). Not a big deal but such fun to get that packet.

Bring back: sufficient bar servers in the MDR, casino and pool. It seems it went from being overrun by cocktail servers to having to ask repeatedly for one or stand at the bar and wait for your own drink. I know... definitely a 1st world problem but I am on vacation.

Bring Back: NO SMOKING on balconies. Oh wait. They never had that. (my last balcony was unusable between the ash from the next door neighbors constant smoking to the smell that actually wafted into our cabin even w/ the balcony door shut.)

Bring Back: OK honestly I didn't like the vidalia tart (soggy and blah) but most folks seemed to, so why did they discontinue it in the 1st place?

Bring Back: my girlish figure before all this cruising FORCED me to pack on the pounds.

ShipShape!

Won a t-shirt on my first cruise on Sovereign :)

Forgot about that! Imagine they gave US money to work out instead of us giving THEM money to work out :p. my Ship Shape tee didn't make it to the turn of the century, and no matter how many Ship Shape dollars I earned I still came home shaped like a ship!

I would like to see a real flaming baked Alaska one more time so DD could experience it once!

I'd love multiple discounts, and OBC for price drops, but I know that's never happening!

Horse Races on at sea day

Flaming desserts

Chocolates on pillows

Live steel drum bands and free beverages at sail away

Relaxing Dinners not rush rush and noisy

Happy hour before dinner with all those fancy snacks on trays

Guacamole Bowl and chips in Schooner Happy hour

Passenger list were nice but real waste of paper

real bananas in BBC (they were soo good before Island oasis)

Late night snack trays being served around on deck (buffet was overkill but nice)

Best C&A gift ever was the bathroom vanity hanging bag kit. still use it

It was WELL before my cruising days but bring back Skeet Shooting!

Wow, you brought back a great memory. On our first cruise, 1994, I have pictures of my husband and my sister skeet shooting off the back of the ship. By the time we took our 2nd cruise in '99, they'd already suspended that.

1.Products in the bathrooms - nice shower gel, lotion etc - like in a decent hotel.

2.Chocolates on the pillow

3. I don't like towel animals but know many people do

4. Did they ever give you a drink as you embarked - Celebrity does but didn't know RCI used to

5. Good entertainers in the theatre on all cruises and ships, not just the new, big ships

6. Trust the passenger to not steal the pool towels - again Celebrity does

The 8 page "newspapers" giving you a synopsis of the news and sports scores. Always fun to read the news from the US, UK and Canada. Also allowed me to keep up on the baseball standings.

Yes Should Have Worded it Better

Thanks

Another vote for the Seaview Cafe on the Radiance class ships and the Vidalia onion tart. I just don't understand what they were thinking when they decided to take away the Seaview Cafe.

They still have it on Jewel. It was just very hard to find for someone who is not used to The Royal line.

Dress codes along with enforcement.

More formal and smart casual nights.

Higher cruise fares to keep cruising on a more elite Level and thus Keep the Riff raff off the ships and probably eliminate it as a Family vacation for many.

Whereas I'm SURE there are a few odd folks who-really- feel this way.......I highly doubt this poster is one of them.......

C'mon, folks.......lighten up! Have a sense of humor!......

Yes! Chocolates!

C&A gifts....feel somewhat devalued since we don't get them anymore. Even tho' they weren't always of great quality, it was always a nice surprise and we used most of them.

I liked sailing from Newport News, Va. But, unfortunately that was during my Carnival days. But, it was still an easy port to leave from and easy to get to. I heard the the traffic and such was really bad getting to Norfolk. Don't know personally, so can't say for sure, but will take any port that we can drive to.

Gwen :)

Sorry, I got off topic.......
