Best airport for Cape Liberty

I assume that Newark, EWR, is the best airport to use for Cape Liberty. Yes? No? Other suggestions.

We have cruised twice from Cape Liberty. Once using EWR and the other time using La Guardia. EWR is closer but getting to La Guardia was no problem, just a little pricier. Check the price of the air fare and transfer and figure out which way is the best.

We did this - it was excellent. No regrets. Stayed at the Country Inns and Suites close to EWR, took a car service to Bayonne the next morning. Neat and sweet. :)

Closer, yes. Cheaper? You can't say that until airfares have been checked.

As the above poster stated, yes, Newark is the closest, but if you can get a super duper airfare into LaGuardia, the minimal more you would pay for ground transportation...it would ultimately cost less to come/go in/out of LaGuardia.

To me "best" is a function of money. EWR is closest but if you can save more than $50 pp by flying into LGA or JFK, that becomes the best. If the savings is less than $50 pp you lose any savings by the time & cost of the distance / ground transportation & general p.i.t.a. factors.

Islip, Westchester, AC, Philly & Allentown start to get complicated from a ground transporation perspective but are doable if the saving is significant. We flew to Los Angeles out of Philly last year because we saved $250 pp by doing so.
