UPDATED List of Current Cruise Directors (CD)

Adventure OTS - Drew Devine started on August 4 (for 4 months?).

 

Allure OTS - Ken Rush started July 28 for two months, then Allan Brooks for October and November (but not December). Exact handover date needs confirmation (Sept 29? Oct 6?)

Brilliance OTS - Steve Davis took over as regular CD of Brilliance on July 27 through mid-November when the ship goes back to Tampa.

 

Enchantment OTS - Marc Walker from June 7 - Nov. 25

 

Explorer OTS - John (and Katrina) Blair started August 3 for approximately 2 months. Leigh Xuereb will be returning from his break at the end of Sept/early Oct. (Erky from Turkey will be Activities Manager Sept 28, 2013 --February 2014. The morning show will be called "Talking Turkey with Leigh and Erky"!)

 

Freedom OTS - Mike Hunnerup from July 7 through September 8. Richard Spacey at corporate office in Miami August 25 through Sept 8, then he expects to return to the ship as CD on Sept 8.

 

Grandeur OTS - John Perry from July 12 through Sept 13. Ricky Matthews September 13 thru November 26th, then Ricky will return sometime in January for 4 months. Can someone find out who will be covering Nov 26 - January?

Independence OTS - Joff Eaton from May 26 through September 7. Can someone please find out who will be covering Joff's break? (Mike Hunnerup?) Joff will be returning November 2

 

Jewel OTS - Dennis Charles (Dennis Sciortino) July 6 through sometime in Sept (exact date unknown), then Carly Boileau is back in September (exact date unknown) Can someone please find out the handover date?

 

Legend OTS - Rico du Breil started June 29.

 

Liberty OTS - Jerome Sueur started Aug 4 (Cuddy will be filling in as the Activities Manager under Jerome)

 

Majesty OTS - Dave Chapman July 19 until August 31. Mitch Merucci returns as MJ's regular CD on August 31 until December 13.

 

Mariner OTS - Jimmy Rhodes started May 19 (until when?)

 

Navigator OTS - Simona Ferraiuolo started April 21 (until when?)

 

Oasis OTS - Amy Fickert from June 1 through Sept 21, then Dave Chapman until November 16. (Frankie will begin as Activities Manager on Oct 5) (per Amy's FB page, she is headed over to Radiance in mid-November after her break)

 

Quantum OTS - Ken Rush will be taking the ship out, and will remain onboard as CD until January 2015

 

Radiance OTS - Paul Rutter for the Alaska season, May 17 through Sept 6. Then, Bobby and Becky Brown for approx 2 months, then Amy Fickert in mid-November (per her FB page).

 

Rhapsody OTS - Graham Seymour for the Alaska season beginning May 31

 

Serenade OTS - Ricky Matthews July 30 though early September (exact end date? Who will be the next CD?)

 

Splendour OTS - Mercedes Fuentes, then João Pereira for the South American season

 

Vision OTS - Topi Ylönen from Finland started May 11 (until when? Who will be the next CD?)

 

Voyager OTS - Lixin Fang began March 23 for the Asian season. Who will be CD for the repositioning and for the Australian season?

OK - we have a conflict.

 

Joff Eaton just replied to my inquiry on twitter and confirmed that Mike Hunnerup is filling in for him on Indy from 7th Sept - 2nd Nov

 

Now, if Richard Spacey is not returning from his break until Sept 8, then when is Mike leaving Freedom to allow him time to travel over to Indy, and who will be covering the CD on Freedom until Richard gets there?

OK - I am off on the Celebrity Summit this week, so I won't be able to update this list until next Sunday.

 

Please keep posting any changes, or any information that you find out, particularly from the ship or from the CD directly.

 

Hopefully we can sort out the CD situation on Freedom this week. (Is Richard returning after 2 weeks at corporate on Sept 8? Who will be the interim or new CD if Mike is leaving to go over to Indy by Sept 7?)

OMG, this is seriously the greatest news I've heard about the Quantum so far! Hope it's true. Ken Rush has ruined so many previous cruises, but everyone always claims he is great at the organization side of things. Never had Richard Spacey but if he can be the face and let Ken work in the back it would be the best of both worlds!

A lot of people have been asking me what I am up to at the moment. I now feel I can share this piece of news with you but I am very honoured and fortunate to be asked to be involved with the Quantum project. I am currently in Miami for the next two weeks learning about this incredible piece of hardware. Honestly you are going to be blown away with everything that this ship will offer.

 

I wanted to... say a HUGE thank-you to Ken Rush who is going to assist me with this transition. He is a friend, a colleague and has been a mentor to me since I started working with him back in 1999 on the Enchantment of the Seas.

 

This is going to be the biggest challenge of my life, I am halfway between being elated and being scared to death... ha ha ha.

 

Hope to see you all soon.

What he said was he is working on the project and Ken will assist him in the transition. Now that might be transition from other ships, or into the planning role. He has not said he is taking it out, nor that he is Senior. It may well be the case but that was not in his statement. Richard is a great CD but Ken has done a fabulous job on take outs over the years, and his organisational skills should not be dismissed lightly. Every ship has 2 CDs the Q would certainly benefit from them working together.:D

I'm curious also but even if he goes to FR to be CD on 9-8-2013, I don't know whether he will be our CD on 1-12-2014. hope he is still with Freedom later in 2014 for our May 4, 2014 cruise but by that time, he might be full time Quantum.

Thanks for sharing. So we now know from multiple sources that Richard Spacey will take Quantum of the Seas out with Ken Rush behind the scenes and then Jimmy Rhodes will take over full time afterwards.

 

Wonder if Richard Spacey will take off in January and take Anthem out in the spring as well since he's not staying with Quantum.

I am with you on the hope graham comes back to the fos I have a date with her oct 6 and he is the only one of 7 cd I remember can we vote for him LOL

John Perry gets off of the Grandeur on 9/13 and will then have his vacation. When he returns to cruising, he will be CD of the Navigator.;) Not sure when that will be.
