C2 Central Park Balcony Stateroom on Oasis

Recommended Posts

Hi, we are looking at a C2 Central Park Balcony Stateroom in November 2014 on Oasis.

This is because its the cheapest balcony.

Can anyone who has stayed in one tell us what it's like overlooking Central Park instead of the ocean please?

Thanks

We just got back from Allure with a central park balcony. We loved it and would do it again. Great for people watching, especially in the evenings... sitting out there with a drink, listening to the great music!!:)

We had a Central Park balcony on the Allure. We liked it. We still got some sun and ocean air and it was nice and quiet. We saved money on it, too, compared to an ocean balcony. We had ocean balconies on other cruises and decided to try the Central Park one. We are not in our cabin a lot and found this balcony to work out fine for us.

We just got off the Oasis like two hours ago. We traveled with my sister and her family, we both said that we wished we did a regular balcony

Wow ! Thanks for the latest news - ha ha ha !

Hope you enjoyed the overall cruise :-)

We usually book an Ocean balcony for my husband and me, and an inside across the hall for our daughters. On our Allure cruise, it was actually cheaper to get the kids a Central Park balcony (applying the C&A balcony discount brought it below the going rate for inside cabins). We hardly used our oceanview balcony at all (too hot and humid) and kept the curtains drawn most of the time to keep the cabin cool. On the other hand, our kids got a lot of use from the CPB - it was less hot/humid feeling than ours, and more shady. It was very quiet and peaceful (deck 10 forward), and we were able to see the Park Café to time our visits there for when the line was the shortest.

I'd definitely book one again, if when comparing prices using the balcony discount, the CPB was closer in price to insides and there was a significant price difference between the CPB and the OVB.

However, a common complaint on Oasis/Allure is that there are fewer views of the sea from the public areas of the ship. We found plenty of places to see the sea (such as the pool deck, solarium, aft public balconies, balcony over the Captain's bridge, deck 4 promenade. So, we really didn't have this complaint. But, if you're the type that's going to think of Oasis/Allure as an "inward directed" ship, then you might not be happy with anything but an OVB or even a porthole window cabin.
