Elegant tea Elite

It's pretty much the same without the champagne. We have always enjoyed it but tend to miss lunch the day of the tea. Not that you have masses of food, just dinky sandwiches, pastries etc. One drawback is that you have to dress smart casual, so long pants etc. would not do both, champagne aplenty in the Elite cocktail hour.

Fun to meet up with people - usually large tables to share. They do often get the sandwich/pastry/scone sequence mixed up though!!:D:D:D

We always go to the elite - I don't suppose its real champers at the champagne tea anyway!! Just plonk!! (slang for cheapo liquor!).

A bunch of us went on our TA--the scones were amazing! But they came to the table piping hot, and then we had to wait a long time, with several requests from passing waitstaff, for the clotted/whipped cream to arrive!! We had a table for 8 and had a lot of fun--I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

You have to do the Elite Tea once - speaking from experience - we did it once, and that was enough for us. It was very nice, but there really was nothing that we couldn't get elsewhere on the ship. The scones appear on the buffet every day at 4pm, clotted cream and lovely jam aplenty; the sandwiches can be found in the buffet at that time as well, as well as in Cafe al Bacio(those lovelies are free, you know, in Bacio, just ask for them). I think that once you hit Elite, you have to go all out and do it all, but then, later, eh, not so much - always enjoy the free drinks, free 90 min internet, but after that, pick and choose from experience.

I attended the elite tea on the Millie in May. It was VERY elegant and the sandwiches and pastries were excellent. They had "white glove" servers and I thought I was in some high brow Hollywood movie.

I forgot the time and realized I was a few minutes late so I ran there from the spa and walked in late. The Maitre D gave me a funny look but escorted me to a table. You can imagine my mortification when I saw all my tablemates dressed formally!!!!! They were all quite kind and overlooked my spa outfit. One kind lady even sat with me after everyone else left while I finished my tea.

It is an experience not to be missed
