"Drinks on Us" - Free Drinks in UK

Recommended Posts

Look what I just found on the Royal Caribbean Blog! I wish I was cruising out of the UK now! What I don't understand is it states that it starts on August 1, 2013 but then says below that this offer is applicable between May and Oct. of 2014?

"Royal Caribbean is launching a new promotion for cruises out of the United Kingdom called "Drinks on us!" that will begin on August 1, 2013.

The new promotion offers a little something for everyone in the family. For kids between the ages of 3 and 17 years old, they can enjoy free unlimited soda at all bars, lounges and restaurants. Adults will enjoy free wine while you dive, with five complimentary bottles of wine per stateroom.

This offer is applicable on all sailings of seven nights or more traveling from the UK between May and October 2014."

Hi there! I read it to mean that the PROMOTION begins on August 1 2013 so any bookings made from then for cruises between May & October 2014 will be eligible.

How do others read it?

It will be interesting to find out exactly what variety of wine is available with this promo.

Thanks for the info. I have a qualifying cruise booked during the promotion period so it will be interesting to see if the offer will apply. Fingers crossed and a call to my RCCL PCS once it goes public.

It will not apply as it will be for new bookings made after August 1st. You would need to cancel and rebook to get this if you really want it.

"Free wine while you dive" sounds dangerous. Will it apply to snorkel excursions too?

Ha ha :D.

Think it's to follow on from the Celebrity offer (they have been running the free drinks package with sailings from the UK for 2014 - today is the last day of their offer). Their promotion was a free classic drinks package pp opposed to 'wine while you dine' offer though.

The Celebrity offer was at least something quantifiable. Royal's offer seems a bit unspecific.

Bob,

That's why we decided to go with the X offer, especially as it included $200 OBC and was combinable with future cruise certificate benefits and the Captain's Club early booking offers ;). Only downside was no balcony discount.......I can live with that, especially as we bagged a FV corner aft :).

You may be right. However, I have managed to cut a deal with RCCL through my helpful Personal Cruise Adviser in the past and will try again when this comes on line.:)

Hi all,

Who would you suggest contacting at RCI to try and wing this promotion to an existing booking?

Would C & A be any good for a lowly gold like myself.

Thanks

C&A is one route. If you have booked with a TA it might be worth speaking to them. I always book directly with RCCL, so I will take it up with my PCS to try and get it for my booked 2014 cruise once the promotion is launched. First I have 14 nights on IOS to look forward to next week. :D

I booked two cabins for a 14 night cruise on Sunday for 2014. Looks like I will miss out. I could not decide whether to wait to 1st of August to book, in the end as I had more time on Sunday and Monday I went ahead and booked. Feeling blue!😥

We booked directly with RCI also so will definitely give it a try. Sorry if this is a silly question though, what is a PCS?

Enjoy your cruise next week :)

Glad I waited nearly booked yesterday however sleeping on it meant no price change and 5 bottles of wine and free drink packages for the kids.

So free wine with dinner along with Diamond lounge, think it will be a merry holiday.

:D:D:D:D

PCS is Personal Cruise Specialist. This is the designation of the named person at RCCL with whom I book our cruises. Cannot name on here but my PCS looks after us very well. Thanks for the kind wishes about next week's cruise. It is going to be great!
