LIVE From the ALLURE of the SEAS with Trainman & Judith

We had a great time ashore today!

Falmouth Historical Bus Tours are available but we have had several "bad experiences" with bus tours so we hired a taxi and paid him more money than we should have.

Anyone who does a Taxi Tour, check the posted hourly rates first! There is a big sign that we never saw until after the tour when it was too late.

We were just on Allure in August and used Liberty Tours Jamaica for our tour guide. They do a variety of tours from Falmouth, Ocho Rios or Montego Bay. Where ever your ship is docked- they will pick you up. We went to Secret Falls, sight seeing in Ocho Rios then to the famous Scotchies for lunch. This tour was by far the best one ever for us we have done in Jamaica. I would use them again! This was very inexpensive compared to the other companies out there. Anyone going to Jamaica soon should contact them, you won't be disapointed!

One question about Samba's. What's with the photos we've been seeing of glamorous showgirls posing with people there? Do they entertain or just act as hostesses/greeters? My husband hopes for both. I'd just like to get a few of their makeup tips.

That was a Brazilian Dancing Girl who did some basic dance routines and visited with the cruisers, especially the little girls, at their tables.

I have been told that this has been eliminated.

We did not see her on either night we went to Samba's

Hello Everyone,

To be honest, we aren't quite live yet but

we are getting closer. We are still at our home out in the country, west of Bunnell, FL.

I am getting ready to complete the final packing and load out the car and we will be heading south toward Fort Lauderdale in a few hours.

I think that this is my favorite photo of the Allure. I don't know who made it, but I like it.

We are seasoned cruisers, Diamond Plus Status, and have 287 nights at sea on Royal Caribbean Ships.

Will join with everyone on thanking you for such great posts. We can not wait for our cruise in November, these ships are the best. We always find it hard to come back but then we start planning for the next one, your posts were the best. We will be thinking of you when we go to Samba's.

I guess that this brings this thread to an end.

Judith and I had a great time on the Allure and I enjoyed sharing it with you.

The new WiFi and Internet connections are a big improvement on the "old days."

And for those of you who have never had dinner in the Windjammer, give it a try on your next cruise. We think you will be surprised and pleased!

going to miss you Trainman. since it will be a non smoking ship on the balcony next yr. I have to say that I always travel in a balcony. I have never had a problem with smokers, I am D plus. I have asthma due to second hand smoke. So do not see a problem. I try to stay away from the casino and the schooner bar. I think if you have problems with smoke you avoid it. So trainman. do not give up on RCC.

While I, as others, appreciate Trainman taking the time to do his on board reviews I do take issue with your comment I have highlighted in red. And you are stating you have asthma due to second hand smoke????????

WHY should someone who has asthma or other problems with smoke have to avoid the casino so smokers can pollute others breathing space?

Unbelievable, the selfishness of some people. So for SOME to get a little gratification from a cigarette you expect OTHERS to not go in the casino? And we wonder why the baby boomers are known as the ME ME ME generation.

Actually, I agree with the poster. The last time I checked, smoking was legal in the US. First off, I am not a smoker. I am sensitive to smoker's. However, it is Royal Caribbean's policy to allow smoking in part of the casino and in certain areas on the pool deck. As I am sensitive to smoke, it is my responsibility to avoid those areas that might be a problem for me. Just as it is the smokers responsibility to smoke in only designated areas. If I don't like the policy, I can go elsewhere - smoker/non smoker alike.

I do have a question though, why is this getting blamed on the "Baby boomers"? Has anyone throughout this whole thread mentioned their age?

Note: I may be misreading your statement, but Trainman-2 is not the poster who made the statement. It was written by Tigger-ttfn.

Thank you very much for your live thread Jim. I really appreciate and enjoy reading your threads. I've never had the pleasure of cruising with you and I'm not sure I will unless you decide to come back to RCCL.

Guess I'll have to keep track of you and Judith on your country home thread!
