CruisinCadie Posted October 20, 2013 #27 Share Posted October 20, 2013 Celebrity Summit Cabin # 3099 Deck # 3 Class: Oceanview Area: Mid-ship, forward, port side Quiet: Very Comments: This was a very good location. DH especially apprectiated being on a lower deck, since we didn't feel the motion as much when the seas were choppy. It's supposed to sleep 3, but I'm not sure how a third person would fit. Maligator Posted October 24, 2013 #29 Share Posted October 24, 2013 (edited) Millennium CABIN #: 8172 DECK #: 8 CLASS: Concierge (C1) AREA: aft BED NEAR: middle QUIET?: relatively (see comments below) BALCONY VIEW: 180-degrees of where you've been; gentle sound of your wake churning BALCONY SIZE: ENORMOUS for non-suite; half-covered by translucent, waterproof canvas WIND A PROBLEM?: not really SOOT A PROBLEM?: didn't notice any PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This information was from Fall 2010 and may not be current after refit. Only a couple decks below the Oceanview Bar, but we couldn't hear any noise. Occasional cigarette smoke from the bar. The pitching was very pronounced in rough seas (last night of northbound Alaska itinerary; open Pacific). That night, the engine noise was also more pronounced (rhythmic growling, rather than the gentle hum of smooth seas sailing). This did not really keep me awake, but I am not prone to motion sickness and I got a little queasy just lying in bed. helpthejuggler Posted October 25, 2013 Author #30 Share Posted October 25, 2013 (edited) After a little thought in how to make this thread more useful, I decided against collating all comments into a table. The thread is searchable and so finding a stateroom number is easy. What is less easy is finding adjacent or nearby rooms where your exact room is not yet available. My solution was to collate the staterooms vs ships and list the post numbers within this thread where the room report is found. I think this adds the most value with least overhead and duplication of the information within the thread. The file is attached, which I will maintain Mark M Class Stateroom Matrix 2013 Oct 25.pdf Edited October 25, 2013 by helpthejuggler

tfrcal Posted October 31, 2013 #32 Share Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) This is for the Summit: CABIN #: 6146 DECK #: Penthouse (Deck 6) CLASS: Sky Suite AREA: Starboard Aft BED NEAR: Is in the middle of the room facing the balcony door which as a swinging door and not a slider QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed BALCONY SIZE: Large, nice size table and two chairs WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This suite connects to the penthouse and you can occassionally hear noise from that suite. The bathroom is amazing (large). The balcony has a canvas cover, however, there is an escape ladder and, thus, there is a hole you can look up through (or down) to the upper deck where the outdoor bar/dining is located. ariawoman Posted November 14, 2013 #36 Share Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) CABIN #: 8046 on Summit DECK #: 8 CLASS: CC AREA: Mid ship (though borders Forward, almost even with forward elevators) BED NEAR: Bath QUIET?: Yes - occasional noise other side of bed wall as a closet was out there in the hall for stewards. BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed though on angle so to see forward you have to lean; Not an issue for us though. BALCONY SIZE: XL WIND A PROBLEM?: No; If we opened the verandah door on some days and didn't close it right away there was a crazy loud wind in the cabin (but since you aren't supposed to leave it open, not an issue overall) SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS - Close to forward elevators. Bathroom had a horrible mold/mildew smell which was never rectified. Made using the bathroom less than pleasant but we kept the door shut and it seemed to stay in there. Ample storage in cabin. It did feel far to get to some locations, mostly buffet and MDR, but since I have no mobility issues it was fine. Rare Turtles06 Posted November 18, 2013 #38 Share Posted November 18, 2013 CABIN #: 8166 DECK #: 8 CLASS: FV AREA: Aft; this is a corner FV on the starboard side; the rear of the balcony faces the stern BED NEAR: This is a two-room cabin; the master bed is in the front room, near the bath, separated by a sliding screen from the other room, which has two sofa beds QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: The view is pretty near 270 degrees, as you have the starboard side view and the full aft view BALCONY SIZE: It's not a balcony, it's a private deck. It is HUGE. WIND A PROBLEM?: Not really; depending on the weather and the ship's direction, you could sometimes feel the wind coming from the side. It was not a problem for us. SOOT A PROBLEM?: No. PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This is a corner FV, sold only to a family of five when the itinerary is first released, but sometimes released for general sale (to two people) when Celebrity realizes it won't get five in this stateroom for the sailing. (We were on a TA.) I can't imagine having five people in there with one bathroom (I suppose it could be do-able with little kids), but for two people it was extraordinary. Two closets, lots of drawer space. It's really a two-room suite but without the suite price (or perks), and the "balcony" can't be beat. The one negative was that the shower tile and bathroom floor were not in good shape -- visible mold and years of ground-in dirt. It was pretty disgusting, actually. The grout had outlived its useful life and really needed to be replaced. (This was Oct. 2013.) I reported it, and I hope Celebrity does what needs to be done. Direct view into suite if blinds in suite are open. BALCONY SIZE: Very small, as it tapers towards the suite, difficult to get past table, was not as described as such in our brochure WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Past passengers belongings left in cabin, cracked tile in shower, holes in the bed sheets. stan1980 Posted November 24, 2013 #42 Share Posted November 24, 2013 CELEBRITY SUMMIT, saildate: 16 Nov 2013 (so, after refurb!) CABIN #: 1122 DECK #: 11 CLASS: Aquaclass AREA: Aft - above Oceanview Cafe BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: YES! No noise from sundeck above nor from Oceanview Cafe below BALCONY VIEW: No covered balcony, since it it is the highest deck with cabins. NO problems with people from the sundeck above (deck 12) looking onto your balcony, since the railing on deck 12 is placed a bit more inward, giving the balconies below on deck 11 their privacy. BALCONY SIZE: Normal, however cabin's 1114 - 1116 - 1118 -1120 and cabin's 1115 - 1117 - 1119 - 1123 had a slightly bigger balcony, because these balconies are on the glass bulge-parts of the Oceanview Cafe below. WIND A PROBLEM?: No, however, it is quite an 'open' balcony SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: This is a complete new deck with complete new cabins which were added during the 2012 "Solsticization" (refurb). Although the cabins were in the exact style-layout as the older original Millenium-class cabins, the cabins on deck 11 are actually bright-shiny-new with some Solstice-class furnishings! Except for the cabins on the far aft side of deck 11 (noise from the Sunset bar below), I would definitely book one of these cabins again! :)
upwarduk Posted November 24, 2013 #43 Share Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Family Veranda Starboard -stern Infinity CABIN #: 9156 DECK #: 9 CLASS: Family Balcony AREA: 271 sq ft BED NEAR: Bathroom QUIET?: Yes BALCONY VIEW: Perfect view of the wake and the Partial Eclipse of the sun on 3rd November. BALCONY SIZE: 242 sq ft WIND A PROBLEM?: No SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: On Infinity, balcony is partially covered with canvas, but one section was broken.Rather noisy from bar above ( the outside section of Ocean View cafe) There was movement of chairs early morning. One bed settee in the lounge section could do with being replaced and was uncomfortable to sit on. There were 2 TV screens, but one remote, so you had to be careful where you pointed it, otherwise both turned on. I was not happy during 'THE STORM' October 27th '13, I didn't like the moment up and down the bed! Also something needed to be wedged in the open balcony door, to prevent it moving. Our next door neighbours got locked out on their balcony, due to side ways movement of the ship, they gave me there key, which they fortunately had with them, to release them back into their room. That apart, it was a delight to be in a roomy cabin. Plenty of hanging and drawer space for 2 people! Edited November 24, 2013 by upwarduk

BALCONY SIZE: Standard WIND A PROBLEM?: It was on the wine immersion cruise, but more of a cruise location than a cabin problem. SOOT A PROBLEM?: No PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Last room on deck 11. The door to the deck is right outside the cabin. It was very windy between Le Havre and Harwich so the door did slam occasionally.
