kdw Posted September 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Can anyone tell me which pier the Celebrity Reflection uses in San Juan? Hoping for the old San Juan pier not the Pan American pier 3 miles away.
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 17, 2013 I would post this on the Celebrity Board. Keith
Rare Scrapnana Posted September 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Ships that are making a port visit usually dock in Old San Juan. Cruises that begin an end in San Juan use the Pan American.
navybankerteacher Posted September 17, 2013 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2013 Since Reflection sails from Miami and just makes port calls in San Juan, it is virtually certain that she will dock at Old San Juan - which is literally across the street from the old city - most convenient. Not all of them do. Ours docked in Old San Juan and it was R/T from there. Don't know why.

If there are several ships starting a cruise on the same day, space limitations at Pan American may result in one of them having to sail from Old San Juan. In January of 2010 we spent the night before our cruise at the Old San Juan Hilton. Three ships sailed from Pan American that evening, and Carnival Victory loaded and sailed from across the street -- but the point remains - ships just making a port call in San Juan almost always dock atbOld San Juan. CPT Trips Posted September 18, 2013 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Isn't PanAm only for RCCL and Celebrity on RTs?
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Our first cruises were on Cunard and we sailed round trip from San Juan and used the old pier in Old San Juan -- down from the new, larger pier. After the new pier was built we did a couple of round trip cruises out of San Juan on Princess and we were docked there. One time we did embark on a Princess ship at the Pan American terminal -- that was at Christmas time.
navybankerteacher Posted September 18, 2013 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Isn't PanAm only for RCCL and Celebrity on RTs? I saw a Princess ship sail from PanAm in 2010 - I'd guess that it really depends on the number of ships in port - with preference for Old San Juan pier being given to ships making a port call. As this question refers to a Celebrity itinerary, if your itinerary on Reflection originates out of Miami (as I believe it does for its US based itineraries) and San Juan is a port of call then you will dock in Old San Juan. sail7seas Posted September 18, 2013 #11 Share Posted September 18, 2013 Isn't PanAm only for RCCL and Celebrity on RTs? Years ago, we sailed from Pan American Pier on Princess. Another time, we sailed from there on HAL..... Statendam to Panama Canal. That was many years ago. :)
