maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #51 Share Posted October 13, 2013 At some point, we had muster. When a ship is open air like this one, guess what happens when it rains outside during muster? It rains inside too, so, muster is moved to the Dog House! Pretty, fake birds during muster. So, after muster, what should I do? My first Appletini! Well, I know you weisenheimers probably like to drink, so, here is the bar menu from the Schooner Bar, should answer a lot of questions. Premium Beverage Package info White wine Red Wine Blue wine Just seeing if you were paying attention!

maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #55 Share Posted October 13, 2013 OK, That is all the alcohol they have! Who am I kidding? It's a cruise, bring on the fun, the fruity, the foo-foo, put more umbrellas in my drink than alcohol, I don't care! I'm on a cruise!! What could be more fun than drinking on a cruise? Drinking on a cruise in a bar that goes on its own cruise! The little boy in the foreground is thinking, I can't wait till I'm 21!

maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #61 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Did you eat lunch on the ship? What did you do with your carryon stuff during lunch? That is always the first problem when sailing solo. Yes, I met a few fellow CC'ers at Park Cafe. I think I had a Kummelwich, but, I forgot to take pics, so, I don't remember. We just piled it all on the floor, inconvenient. Luckily, cabins were ready at 1pm. I just got off Oasis. I feel like I'm cruising again, looking at your pix. I did look down at the top of a lifeboat, but felt like it was a bonus. If my glasses fell off they wouldn't drown. I am terrified of my glasses blowing off in the wind on a ship! I actually hold onto them when I am out on the balcony. :o
maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #62 Share Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) Wahoo!!! An Allure review! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! I'm so ready to board this ship next month! Thank You, Your review of the Enchantment helped me a lot earlier this year! I went to school in Lynchburg! Back when it was Randolph-Macon Womans College! maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #64 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Are you dining at the MDR? How is that going? Actually, no. I just wanted to be casual and relaxed on this cruise. I thought I might go to the MDR for a breakfast or two - NOPE! And, I thought I would go for lunch just to get the Tutti Salad - NOPE! The salad at the Park Cafe was wonderful and I had that for lunch a few days. YIPPEEEE Maureen is writing a review and my name made the 1st page. HA! HA! Loving it!! I am in stitches reading this review. I can hear you talking, being animated and everything. LOL!! Keep it coming!! Oh, you took that mention as a compliment? Ummmmmm........yeah, that's how I meant it, that's the ticket! Actually, I have told Rhonda that I want to cruise with you again. I had so much fun the couple of nights we hung out, is it OK if I post a picture or two of you? You can hear me talking? With this accent?? maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #66 Share Posted October 13, 2013 The little boy is thinking... That is nothing compared to the number of bottles my parents smuggled aboard. HAHA- you're probably right. I was up in the Schooner one day and the bar was coming down and two guys were leaning on the fence, completely oblivious to what was advancing towards their heads! You should have seen them scatter when they finally saw it! :p Loving this review!!! You are a wonderful writer! Can't wait to read more :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - Thank You so much. I love words and writing and picking the perfect word to describe something. I love language! What a geek! By the way, Cynthia, did you get double points for this sailing? I haven't seen you on the thread about that. So far, all the solos did except Chris - check yours if you haven't already. Just watch out, some folks here aren't happy about it.

Still working on mine, but I'm running out of free time  Thanks, Viv, I've been following yours as well. Mine got off to a late start because of my Mom being sick, I hope I remember everything. I hope she is recovering okay (my thoughts are with you and her)! Wish I could have hung out with the solo's a couple of nights but my daughter hogged me up completely. maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #69 Share Posted October 13, 2013 OK, where was I? Oh yes, Dinner! I had signed up for Rita's Fiesta the first night, it is just one hour after sailaway. I had read some bad reviews of the food, but, for $20, you get a ton of food and 3 Margaritas. I figured once I drank the Margaritas, I wouldn't care what the food tasted like. Here is the menu for the Fiesta As you can see, they have dances scheduled around the courses. It was so much fun, they had us out dancing on the Boardwalk. Tell me this doesn't look like fun! I just love colorful things! The question going in was, Can I drink 3 Margaritas in 2 and 1/2 hours? The answer was I can drink 3 Margaritas in 1 and 1/2 hours! maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #70 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Here is the staff dressed up and dancing to Tequila. The man in the gray t-shirt is the manager here and at Johnny Rockets across the way. He is from Macedonia and I thought he was cute. I thought he was cute in his t-shirt. When I saw him at breakfast at JR's the next morning in his officer's uniform, I almost fell over the table.:o Ok, the tortillas come in a basket lined with newspaper. Don't be like me and try to read the newspaper, it will just confuse you. They give the women flashing necklaces and the men teeny tiny sombreros to wear. I remembered MADQ had asked for and received a sombrero, so, I did too. It actually came in handy later. There was a mom, dad and 3 little girls sitting across from me. Since only the men get sombreros, the family only had one and the girl wearing it did not want to give it up. When they got up to dance the Macarena, I put mine on one of their chairs. I'm cool like that! :D I actually thought the food was good. They had a green tortilla thing with Jalapeno peppers that was to die for. It may have had a little cheese in it, too. I went back later in the cruise to get it again, but, I guess I ordered the wrong thing. I would definitely do this again, maybe try the non-alcohol version since I don't usually drink Coke on a ship (Cheap, cheap)

maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #72 Share Posted October 13, 2013 More dancing, more fun. The lady in the yellow and her friend were very nice, they gave me some of their food when mine got held up in the kitchen. I don't remember their names, I will call them Lucy and Ethel. The cute Macedonian and Ethel Now, everybody is out dancing on the Boardwalk More fun - look at the faces of the two women on the left and the girl in the black and white skirt. I like pretty food
emeraldcity Posted October 13, 2013 #73 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Great review so far. OK ... here's the first question ... if you partied as much on the rest of the cruise as you did on day one ... how is that that you're still in possession of enough energy to start posting at 1:00 a.m.? maureencruiser Posted October 13, 2013 Author #74 Share Posted October 13, 2013 Somewhere along the way (hic), I had my third Margarita. By the time the main course had arrived, I wasn't hungry anymore. The fajitas needed (hic) more beef and less chicken, I think. Maybe they needed less shrimp and more chicken (hic), Time for more dancing! I don't know how this man got his sombrero to do this, but, it was hilarious! Between him being so tall, the inside out (?) sombrero, the 3 Margaritas and everyone doing the Macarena, I thought I was going to fall off my chair! And, you can't see it, but, the woman squatting down at the right front has her baby standing there and she is moving him through the Macarena, as well. Talk about a party for the whole family. There weren't a lot of us there, but, we sure had fun. Then, they brought dessert. Were they trying to kill me? Now, the new question was, Could I make it back to my cabin after the three Margaritas? Well, I made it, but, I would love to see the path I took. It couldn't have been straight. And I must have been drunk, because I swear I saw a bunch of horses, lions, leopards and bears running in circles on my way back. What an imagination I have!
