That's terrible news!

Andrew, you're going to have to find Laslo and tell him to put Garry back.

Paula, were you able to grab a picture of Gary before he was removed?

We have a friend who is a Senior Officer on board Oasis and we had dinner together on Thursday night. During dinner I told her of the Gnome, and she said, "Oh you mean Gary?"

So after dinner we went up to Central Park and we played the game of hot and cold. I was a meter away from where he was. Our friend was surprised and sad to see he was no longer there. She also commented that the plants had been changed where he was located. She was going to find the gardener to see that if Gary was still around. If so she thought that he should be returned to his "home".

On a side note she never knew Gary, who left the Gnome.

Andrew

Yea' date=' you're back! I figured it was just me that couldn't see the pictures.[/quote']

Sorry about that. Thanks for reading!

We're on Oasis next year -the westbound ta -in cabin 11616. Could you please tell me if the foot of the bed or the bedhead face forward? Love the photos. Thanks Diane

Thanks Diane! The bed in 11616 faces forward and is close to the balcony.

Curious how were you able to find him?

To not to give too much info away -- it was a fluke. There were a lot of poinsettia's in bloom and I had turned to take some pics of some that were really pretty --- voila, there they were!:):p

FYI --- if other posters come back to the thread the new drink packages were in effect.

Was on the Oasis for the 14th Dec sailing ---- here's a pic I took of Garry -- from it I'm thinking he's not in the same place as the OP's pic, but won't say either where I found him (them):)

We were on the Dec 7th sailing and I also have my picture of them. I checked on them everyday after I found them. I spoke with a couple of ladies who were sitting in front of them and asked if they were taking care of the nomes? They looked quite blank until I pointed them out, then they stood and took lots of pictures. I lalso found them quite by accident, it pays to get off the beaten path so to speak.

:)I think they like to party and just forget where they're supposed to go!:D Yes, once I found them I checked on them too:)

After the weather / no power the TO area got this past week --- don't blame you! I'll take the dump of snow we got. Think you should book another Oasis cruise!

March 8th of 2014 we will start looking for Gary. The plants will be a clue. I will find the little man one day. Laslo must have got my message;):D

Enjoy your cruise! I can see it now -- pics in hand trying to match plants and arms reaching in to move them apart --- Security!!!:D:D

I just spent a couple of hours reading this entire review, and I just wanted to say thanks for doing such a great review. We are considering the eastern run on this ship for Dec. 2014 after 10 cruises on Carnival. It's between Oasis and Carnival Breeze, so that's why I was reading your review with much interest. ;) Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Thanks Lisa! I don't think you'll be disappointed with Oasis. The only problem is after sailing her you won't be able to go on another class of ship again. That's my current problem... But what a great problem to have.

That's my problem as well. What is going to live up to the Oasis? Haven't tried the Allure yet...too afraid to after the wonderful time on Oasis and to think we were trying to decide between a Carnival cruise and this one. At least we made the right choice. :)

We're on the Oasis on Mar 15- thoroughly enjoyed your review and can't wait. We have a Boardwalk Balcony on the 11th floor. Our last RCL was the GOS 5/24/13- hoping this cruise has a little less excitement.

I was on Oasis Nov 16-23 and had a boardwalk balcony on 11th floor (11327) and loved it. The walk down the hall was not as bad as I had anticipated,as we were in the next to last room. We did make the mistake of going the wrong way when we first boarded and walk the entire length of the ship. One tip for you, the casino is directly below you your room area, you can get to all the entertainment by cutting through the casino (mid ship elevator). At the end of the hall, there is a private deck where you can watch Oasis of Dreams w/o going to the Aqua Theater. We also watched from our balcony one night. I think other ships I sail on on future will have a lit to live up to now.

Looking forward to going on Quantum in Jan 2015.

I don't see an issue moving to Allure after Oasis as they are basically the same ship. If anything, Allure has a few differences/upgrades over Oasis. I will be on Allure twice in 2014.

True however the reviews have not been as positive about the Allure like the Oasis which alot has to do with the staff and cruise director. Have you been on the Allure yet?

I have been on the Allure and I would say they were similar experiences. I thought the crew was wonderful!!
