Amazing craps roll to end our trip

We were on the NCL Breakaway last week(11/3). On our last night we went to casino to collect our comps and decided to play craps around midnight. The table was almost full, but my wife and I got two spots at the end of the table. Since she had not played craps at all this cruise(only twice ever) I told her that I wanted her to roll when it was her turn. She reluctantly said OK. 5 shooters later she was up. I bought in for 1000 and was down about 150 when she started. She bets 10 on the pass and I bet 25, we then would play max odds. She then places 10 on the 9. I play 1 or 2 come bets and play max on them unless it is a 5 or 9 then I play 100 on the opposite. We both go up $5 each time on the pass line when she hits the point. Anyway She starts rolling and the first throw 1 die ends up in a players rack, the next throw, one off the table. 25 minutes later she hits 7 points, 5 come bets for me and 4 or 5 nines. The table is covered with bets, everyone made lots, except the darksiders. I never play hard ways, but I put 20 each on the hard six and eight and hit the six, pressed them both up to 50 and hit the six two more times. I even pulled down my 9 with $350 on it 2 rolls before she sevened out. All said and done our $850 turned into $8300. We colored up, said goodbye to the casino and went to bed. What a roll, it was like a dream.

Nothing in a casino is more exciting, and noisey, than a hot crap table. My favorite game. Sounds like you play the way I do with the pass bet and come bets. Now tell your wife never to play again. LOL. I played on the Breakaway on its' maiden TransAtlantic cruise and the dice were good then too.

LOL Skeeter..Simialar thing happen to us a few years ago when I had my Wife throw for the first time. Our initial buy in was only 200 and betting smaller than you , 45 minutes later walked away with over 3K. Wife was had on her Red sox shirt and NY players tipped her when she was done! She tried throwing once since then and crapped out right away and has retired!

Some of the funniest things I've seen have happened at a crap table. Saw a guy one time who complained because he said he hadn't been paid for a bet he made. They were getting set to throw the dice again and this guy climbed up on the able and laid down. Security came and took him away. Turned out he was right. They hadn't paid him. He came back to the table. Many stories.

No need to claim any winnings. The casino is not going to report it like a slot win and they issue you a w2g for wins over I think $1200. If you have more than 10K in cash when leaving the ship, split it up with any fellow travelers, not your family though, customs are per family not per person. If you don't have anyone with you, and you are worried about getting caught, just ask the casino to issue you a check. I had to do this once and was worried until it cleared, which only took 2 days. I won't do that again. I only had $4500 over the allowance.

Amazing craps roll to end our trip.....

Brings back some good memories. Back in the early 80's I just finished up a project at one client and was waiting until their other plant was back online after a planned maintenance downtime. Knowing I had about 2 weeks to kill I saw a brochure in the Orlando airport about the Big Red Boat (Disney) out of Port Canaveral.

So called them up, booked a small outside with a porthole and paid the 150% rate for a single. Had played a little blackjack before but never craps. So first night decided to give it a try. Started with $100 and after about an hour and with help of the "guys" I walked away with $1500. After that 3 day cruise, drove down to Miami and went out on a 4 day. But no luck on that one. But at least the only 2 cruises I have ever been on were "free" thanks to that run.

You should have been there. Someone who knew what to do would have made a bundle.... I was the only one at the table.

Finally after 30 years am booked for a trip this Oct. Wish me luck.....

If you do the above you are breaking the law & can have all of your money confiscated. If caught they do not have to give you your money back. I've seen this happen on two occasions. Someone had obviously told customs that they had won a substantial amount of money. All US citizens are required to report wins over $10K as per your tax laws.

Just to clarify some things for you OldSeaDog1969. Customs could care less how much somebody wins. if I get a check for 50K from winning in the casino onboard a ship, I don't even have to declare it to customs. Why?, because a check leaves a paper trail. What customs does care about is bringing in more than 10K in cash. The IRS needs to know all cash transactions over 10K in cash. Customs is just working with the IRS in monitoring large cash sums being brought in. As far as the 10K in winnings being taxable, wrong. All winnings are taxable, now what someone does personally is up to them. Keeping a log and recording all wins and losses along with expenditures will keep you out of trouble with the IRS if you report it each year. Also you can only file wins and offset them with losses. Only under very specific circumstances can you file losses on there own.

Oh yeah I would have loved to have seen the two idiots that had their money confiscated, which I highly doubt happened anyway. Money is not something illegal, worst case would be that they would have had to pay a fine.

My 2 cents
