We had a great time in Cartagena on a tour by Claudia Vidal. Among the sights we visited was:

• Monastery of Our Lady of the Candle

• La Popa Hill

• San Felipe de Barajas Fortress

• handicraft stores of Las Bóvedas

• Bolívar´s plaza

• Customs Plaza

A recap of our day in Colon Panama. Our tour with Roberto from Robtad's tour gave a chance to see the following:

 

• first-hand view of the Canal at Gatun Locks

• historic city of Portobelo

• Customs house, built in the 1600´s, housed all the goods coming into Panamá from Spain and all the Inca gold and silver going out

• Spanish forts from which the Spaniards defended Portobelo

• church of the Black Christ

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These are the gates that will go in the locks on the new canal. they are huge.

I love this picture as it shows how high up the ship get when going through the locks. Those containers in the middle are on a large freighter that is up the hill from us.

I took most of the pictures I took as we transited the Gatun Locks and through them into Movie Maker. Keep in mind, when I was snapping pictures it was not with the intent of creating a movie. :o
