Have you cruised in November?

My wife and I sailed on the Magic in the Caribbean a year ago in Nov. and just this last Nov. on the Miracle to the Mexican Riviera. Both were excellent though the temps while sailing on the Miracle were a tad cool.

Don't know exactly what info you need but both of these cruises were superb in every regard and the Magic is a spectacular ship!

Enjoy your cruise.

It may completely depend on homeport and ship, but my November cruise experience was that it was a pretty sedate cruise. The average age on our sailing had to be 75+. And they'd all sailed HAL before and hated Carnival and did nothing but complain. :p Ok, I exaggerate, but it was a bit frustrating! Even our moms, both in their 60s, were tired of what they called the "old folks" by the end of the cruise. The bars and dance club were dead, not much happening after dinner in the evenings. I'm sure not all sailings are like this, though!

Weather of course can't be predicted, but it is a time of year where some fronts come through with the seasons changing. We had freezing cold in Jacksonville, great weather the first few days and in port, and sunny, but rough seas our last sea day.

I'd certainly try another November cruise and see if it was time of year or not on it being a really quiet cruise. Haven't run into that issue in September, October, May, or January so it could have just been a fluke.

As a former teacher all of our cruises have been in the spring? I am now retired and we are taking a repositioning cruise in the Caribbean in November. Can you tell me about cruising in November.

Our first cruise was the end of November. The weather in the Caribbean was fantastic. It was plenty warm but not high humidity.

We now cruise the last 2 weeks of January, and I think the weather is comparable to November.

HI all!

I always try to cruise a week in November as it's such a dreary month here.

The weather has usually been great in the Caribbean except once when we couldn't get into 2 private islands because of wind.:( I only remember it raining once in St Thomas so my excursion was cancelled.

Once I cruised the Mexican Riviera in Feb. & the tour guide said you should come in Nov. when everything's lush & not so dry.

We have cruised twice in November... both the week after Thanksgiving.

Both times the weather was perfect.. smooth sailing, warm days.

I would not hesitate to sail that time again!

I cruised a while back on the Carnival Destiny the first week of November. That year, we had unusual hurricane tracking and one the hit Mexico turned unusually and changed our course. Lots of rocking for about a day but not unbearable. We had to skip Grand Cayman as they closed the port due to high waves. Only had about a day of sun on the 7 day cruise but the weather was warm. I'm not at all knocking November cruises, but just be aware you are coming out of hurricane season and if it extends a bit, you may have to deal with a few complications. Not the end of the world but the first day of the storm 1/3 of the cruisers were sea sick and in their rooms. As I was not affected, it was kind of nice to have a less crowded cruise experience.

We did this past T'giving week on Magic out of Galveston.

Second sea day: rained 10 minutes, then stopped,a hour later repeat. An hour later, etc. Had to keep getting up from the lounge chair & running for shelter as the bottom would drop out! Deckhands were CONSTANTLY squeegeeing the desks.

Plus it was cool & windy.

Roatan had 100% rain plus 40 mph wind gusts. The only tour I know that took place was one to a museum, & they came back early. Pouring rain 90% of the time & wind that broke any umbrella you had.

Belize had the coldest cold front they've had in several years (this from a native). It was about 50 degrees the morning we anchored. Couldn't snorkel a bit-- the water was ice cold.

Cozumel -- they had so much wind that nearly all the water activities were cancelled. Didn't matter to us as we were doing the Xrails through the jungle, but it was definitely chilly.

Weather has the possibility to wreck too much havoc in November, IMO.

Just did November this year and just booked again for next. Less busy, less humid, great weather.

Great post. Less Busy. Less Humid. Great Weather. Totally. We have cruised both Princess and Carnival during November. We love it. Prices are great. Football season for most college games are over....or close to it........it is before Thanksgiving and Christmas ( for us) and it is just a perfect week.

The demographic might be a little older. No nudies in the Lido Biuffet....no gents in wife beaters..but lots of action in the clubs and casino...or so it seemed to me.

Worst Cruise..........To Panama on the Freedom in June. I live in Florida. I was born in Alabama. I did not know it could get that hot. I stepped over a huge Iguana and did not bat an eye. I run from a spider, so I must have been close to sun stroke. November is lovely.

That is excellent advice. I would add that Hurricane season runs from June to November. And usually ( but you can never be certain about hurricanes) the big ones hit the end of August-First of September. Something about the Northern waters cooling and the warm waters from the south meeting..............and Bang. Ditto Air currents. And of course they form off the coast of Africa..and most are blown out to sea..luckily

Knock on wood. Florida & the Gulf Coast has been spared a big hurricane for a long time.

We took our first November cruise ever in 2013 - a B2B, so I guess we were cruising for pretty much 1/2 of the month. We normally do a Caribbean cruise in October and also have taken one in January. We found the winds were considerably stronger in November and the other thing that stuck out to me was the water temperatures. Much cooler than we had ever found it a month earlier.

Wife and I cruise every year in November. For the most part we have had great weather. Seas can be hit or miss sometimes as it is tail end of hurricane season but just prepare with seasick remedies. We usually sail to West or East Caribbean. It is probably one of the best times of the year to cruise.

We always try to cruise in Oct, Nov, Jan/Feb, Sep (in that order of preference). Have not had a bad cruise yet! :D

Of course, these are cruises out of FLA. I don't think I'd enjoy cruising from the northeast ports (while they last) in these months.
