Rare geoherb Posted January 18, 2014 #126 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Congrats on another trivia win. I wouldn't have been much help on that one, but we did great with the Broadway posters. We tied with a team consisting of friends we had made at the GLBT get-togethers.
san diego sue Posted January 18, 2014 #127 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Thanks Marcia, And we in San Diego have warm weather right now.(80's) It's great for those taking the freebie west coast cruises right now.

She would have 25-30 people signed up for her morning session by 9PM the night before. There is no way for her to handle this kind of a crowd. The FCC box did state that there wold only be email confirmations and they would take about a week. Mine did post well within that time frame. I have never seen the crowds around the future cruise office as I did on the cruise last week.
san diego sue Posted January 18, 2014 #129 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Same thing on the West coast cruises (freebies). She had a long list. Don't know why people just didn't submit their forms for FCC and book later. I think there may have been a lot of first time Princess cruisers that probably had questions. Hey Gloria I get a bit nervous not seeing the FCC before I leave the ship. There is no way to get it after you leave the ship and we had one cruise where it never showed up. Last cruise it took a week after we arrived home before it did finally show up but instead of the credit being split between the two of us it showed up on one credit card. We always try to place the FCC the first few days on board. Have fun on the Emerald. Edited January 18, 2014 by waltd
Posaune Posted January 18, 2014 #131 Share Posted January 18, 2014 I took a photo of my application before putting it in the box. Also a photo of the application and the sign on the box....... just in case. No problem though.
Pia1913 Posted January 18, 2014 Author #132 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Back again. Would have checked in sooner, but internet was down. Just as promised, our minutes did not carry over. Even our names didn’t carry over. Not sure how much I’ll be telling you this cruise, since everything is the same so far. Lee Childers has such a wonderful repetoire. Why he doesn’t change anything is beyond me. He knows people are doing B2B’s; must be a few hundred on this cruise by the number waiting in DaVinci this morning. All MUTS movies will be the same. All shows will be the same, other than a new comedian; Miguel Washington. Has to better than Phil Tag. Who asked about Zumba? There was only one class this past week. Getting off this morning was painless and much better than what we heard happened on the preceding cruise. We were herded off starting approx. 10:20 and were back on again by 10:45. Very quick and very orderly. Except for some people who felt they needed to run back on. I suppose they hadn't eaten much earlier. Going to veg now. See ya. scottsgal Posted January 18, 2014 #136 Share Posted January 18, 2014 We had Miguel Washington on our 1/9/14 Ruby sailing. We thought he was funny and he seemed to get a lot of laughs and good response from the audience. Have a great 2nd leg!
Moviegirlnyorlando Posted January 18, 2014 #137 Share Posted January 18, 2014 Pia, Bon Voyage on the second leg. ! Keep posting, love living vicariously through these threads. Pia I have a question. I saw a lot advertised on our cruise but didn't try it but have you ever used Accupuncture services on your cruise history ? I imagine it would be so much more expensive than on land but my insurance let's me use it with my flex spending account. Wonder of they would at sea too? (I pay up front and get reimbursed with my own pre tax own contributions. I supposed I cam do this with massage too if I get a doctors note I need it, which I could. Also has menus changed since we were on ? Did they have that yummy pate fois grass with truffles they has on Xmas again ?

I saw Miguel Washington last year on the Ruby and enjoyed his show. Thank you Pia for responding
san diego sue Posted January 19, 2014 #139 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Pia, We cruised with Lee Childers as a cruise director. It was a Hawaii cruise. He copied what was put out on the previous cruise by the cruise director and doubt he even proof read it as it wasn't appropriate for our itinerary. I think he is suppose to be more of a relief CD. NeptuneSeas Posted January 19, 2014 #140 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Bon Voyage - Part 2! (Our virtual cruise continues.....) Wondering if you've had a chance to ask Maitre D' Nicola Furlan if he'll be on the trans Atlantic & subsequent European cruises please. If he's not, could you please advise who is. Thank you in advance & continue to enjoy. Cheers! Neptuneseas:D
Pia1913 Posted January 19, 2014 Author #141 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Good Morning at sea; a chilly sea. Temps today only to hit 70. Maybe. It was very busy leaving port yesterday; so many cruise ships. The ones I saw were Oasis, Westerdam, Emerald, Crown, Liberty of the Seas and us. Perhaps there were others. But we left on time. We tried to stay out on our balcony, but too cold and windy. After dinner we went to check out the new comedian; he’s OK. Not fantastic, but a few funny “shtick” and we’ll most likely see his solo show in a few days. Our visit to the casino was profitable. Good first night. With our friends next door, we had the partition opened and now we have a humongous Caribe balcony. And for the first time ever, we also have a female room steward(ess). There is not much I can tell you about today’s activities that you haven’t already heard. The only thing new will be the football games on MUTS; Broncos vs. Patriots in the afternoon and 49ers vs. Seahawks in the evening. Formal night tonight with the waterfall and production show Colors of the World. Our M&G is scheduled for 11 in Skywalkers, so we will forego trivia and attend this time. Not sure yet of the standings, but I saw the number one couple from last cruise, so I expect they will still be in the top tier. For the person who asked about Zumba, there is a beginner’s session at 9:15. And no, Laura, I have never tried acupuncture nor do I have any intention of doing it in the foreseeable future. There is a major internet problem; like it doesn’t connect. Tried last night; went in and out. Now it isn’t even coming up at all. Can’t be too many people (which is the answer they love to give you) at this hour. Will copy and paste when I can. Neptune: he's a phantom Thank you Gary. I appreciate what you wrote. :) Catch you later.
WendyG Posted January 19, 2014 #142 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Hi Pia, Did you have any cabin culture shock going immediately from the suite to a balcony? :) Congrats on the withdrawal from the casino. Keep up the good work! :)

Keep up the good work! :) I know I would sigh with regret every time I walked past Sabatini's, especially in the morning. Those waffles were excellent. One turnaround morning I got one from the Lido waffle station which turns into the pizza/ice cream place later. They were very soggy. Pia: No problem. TwoBadKnees Posted January 19, 2014 #147 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Ruby Internet problems are best resolved by tech officer Robert from Canada. He tweaked a couple antennas for us, and our reception improved. The Ruby certified Zumba instructor disembarked about a week ago and Zumba was (temporarily?) replaced by another dance theme in the mornings at 9:15, which was the same time as Zumba during AtSea days. Pia1913 Posted January 19, 2014 Author #149 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Internet connected so I'm just checking in before dinner. Don't know how long we will have this signal. Did something out the ordinary today; went to the art auction. How's that for alleviating boredom? Only thing to report is that I'm having a love affair with a certain slot machine. Hope it continues. Our M&G had a good turnout; captain, staff captain, hotel manager, bar manager and two more officers attended. CD didn't show his face, but that's the norm for "exciting" Lee. Carolyn: wanted to meet you. Were you there? OK. ready to eat again. It's Bavarian night in Cafe Caribe and that means my favorites without getting dressed formally. What a life! :D
