Oasis 3 Changes

Improve the ventilation of the casino as it is reported that smokers are congregating in the casino since smoking is no longer allowed on Ocean facing balcony cabins on other ships since Jan 1st. The casino on Allure was the worst I've experienced for smoke and this was before the new regulations.

Increase the footprint of the Park Cafe in Central Park as it is extremely popular and gets long lines at peak times.

Install more of the Freestyle self serve soda machines. There are not enough for the size of ship presently on Allure.

Redesign the Diamond lounge as it is woefully inadequate for the number of C&A members as I keep reading all Diamond cocktail hours appear to be held in Blaze nightclub to cater for the number of C&A members onboard.

I definitely agree with you about the Park Café.

But as to the Diamond Lounge...........believe it or not, on some cruises, they do not need to move to Blaze. Depends on the particular passenger load. Allure and Oasis continue to attract a LOT of first time cruisers, and low-time cruisers.

I agree, the Cigarette stench on my last trip on oasis made it horrible to workout

and Im putting money down that its going to be called Passion of the Seas. mark my word.

1. What cigarette stench in the fitness center?!?!?!?!

2. Disagree. Want to bet? ;) :D

There are some views through a few large circular windows, but nothing like the expansive 180 degree views you see on Voyager or Freedom class. You're also on deck 5 on Oasis/Allure as opposed to deck 11 on Voyager/Freedom, so much lower on the ship.

Deck 6. :)

RCI, if you're listening, put in an indoor cigar lounge were smokers won't bother other people. Get rid of smoking in the casino. If you need a cigarette pop into the lounge and join me for a drink. A smoking lounge would solve a multitude of problems. The cigar lounge on the Freedom class and Voyager class should serve as examples. Until then I'll be out on deck smoking my cigar, trying not to bring about the end of western civilization as we know it!

I seriously doubt that you could bring about the end of western civilization. You are too much of a nice guy! ;) :D

Make WJ a little larger, maybe a different concept for the Solarium bistro at night as well as changing the concept for the seafood shack and Rita's I think a upgraded fish house would be a nice touch in its place, agree making CP a little larger. I like the Boardwalk concept but felt it was not as defined as CP feel the space could be better utilized. Larger Comedy club. RCL nailed CP it was our favorite place on the ship.

Since I don't design ships for a living, not sure how they could bring about either of these items:

Outside seating for the WJ. We had this on the Brilliance and loved sitting in the morning sun for breakfast. We're on vacation from a cold climate and sitting in the fresh air while eating was such an enjoyment.

I know most of the fine dining (plus fee) restaurants are centered around Central Park, it would be nice if one of them had beautiful windows overlooking the ocean. As great as these ships are, there are precious few areas that overlook the very thing you are riding upon.

Better nighttime dining option in Solarium Bistro

Repurpose the On Air Club, seems underutilized.

Eliminate smoking in the casino altogether (not so much an Oasis 3 thing, but something that will eventually happen fleetwide).

Completely rethink the MDR. It's clear that they can't put out a quality product for that many people at once. Maybe they need a multitude of smaller free options a-la-Disney. Whatever it is, the writing is on the wall that the MDR isn't what it used to be.

Virtual Balconies

Turn the underutilized Diamond Lounge into a Cigar lounge (may need to be enclosed so as not to disturb royal promenade- or perhaps just specialized ventilation). Find another larger space for Diamond Lounge.

Make the rising tide bar go all the way to the pool deck!:D (hey, a guy can dream, can't he?)

Eliminate Johnny Rockets (seriously, who needs a crappy fast food burger on a cruise?).

Relocate some of the premium dining venues to areas with ocean views. This may mean losing some cabins. But jack the price on the others to make up for it and the revenue generation will still be there (it'll never happen).

Bigger pool in Solarium with cooler water.

Find a way to make the solarium more open air. Too much glass often makes it feel stuffy.

Yes please! Please RCI put a cigar lounge on Oasis 3, other than the VCL that was my favorite spot on Freedom. But then again they didn't put one on QotS so I'm not holding my breath.

Didn't know this. I think I would prefer Deck 5. On Freedom (and Navigator), running on the treadmill when the chop was up was a very frustrating experience: very difficult to keep proper pace and often I feared I would step off the tread, as the ship's movement made running very challenging. Perhaps a lower deck location would make it less difficult.

Do something different with the roof in the Solarium ie. either have it open air like Freedom/Voyager class or covered & climate controlled like Radiance/Vision class. In my experiences it sometimes gets so hot in the afternoon in there it's almost unbearable.

It will be interesting to see what changes and additions are made to the speciality restaurants, the rumours about the new Italian concept and Japanese Steak House are appealing. It would be good to see some of the Quantum ideas move across.

[quote name='Merion_Mom']Well, Chip, since you started with little little little bathroom details (ALL of which I agree with!), let me add another one that I have noticed.

The metal soap holders have fewer cross pieces on the Oasis/Allure than on the other ship. They must be saving all of 3¢ per cabin on it. Put another metal cross piece in the soap holder so that STUFF DOESN'T FALL OUT OR FALL OVER.

;)

edited to add:

If you can't tell what I am talking about, I found this picture. It is NOT what the soap dish looks like, but it illustrates what I am talking about. See the two parts of the soap dish? One has more "bars", closer together? That's better. Oasis and Allure's have the pieces even farther apart than the picture on the left has.

Completely agree,

We take a face cloth and fold it over on the shower caddy, then place our items on it, we switch it out periodically. Cannot tell you how many bruises I have gotten when something falls and knee jerk reaction is to pick it up. Designers take note....:-) Edited by SConnolly
