First grand suite

I'll be in my first grand suite next month and I'm just curious about a few things.. I'm. On adventure out of San Juan. When checking in, do we get to go to a special area? Are our seapass cards different looking? The conceirage lounge, can we get almost any mixed drink? I believe I saw adventure has a special area by the pool for suite guests? What about luggage tags, do they still send the tags in the mail for suite guests? What else special can I expect?

Yes, you get luggage tags, but you have to order them. There is a place to click open to order them when your Setsail pass is ready to print. You can get most basic mixed drinks in the CL, but no blender or frozen drinks. Most CL's will offer cosmos and lemondrops or appletinis. Your seapass cards will be gold.

You will have a Suite check in desk and waiting lounge in the terminal. Your SeaPass cards will be gold colored. Most drinks will be available between 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM at n/c for suite guests in the Concierge Lounge. There is a reserved seating area forward of the pools for suite guests. You will also have reserved seating in theater and ice show.

Appletini's, really, that's new for us. Cosmo's were always available because they had cranberry, but have never seen Apple Schanpps. looking forward to it on Enchantment next week:D

Small things to note:

I had my first Grand Suite on Brilliance this past December. More room specific things we had while on board were:

-Complimentary Fruit bowl delivered the first day for enjoyment throughout the duration of the cruise

-Complimentary Cheese Plate delivered on the second day of the cruise

-Complimentary Water

-Complimentary Seattle's Best Coffee in the room with a Coffee Pot

Other small noteables:

-The room has a doorbell! lol

-And I do believe all Grand Suites have a bath tub instead of the torpedo sized shower in other rooms.

-Bathrooms also have dual sinks. This was especially nice.

And for us, the service we were provided by the Suite Attendant was phenomenal. Ito, his name was, knew us and addressed us by name starting the very first night. He always took time out of his day to talk to us and on the final night of the cruise even took the time to leave us a hand written note. Things like that really set the service apart, in my opinion, when comparing it to the typical "hello" you get from most other stateroom attendants. I would imagine most Suite Attendants are similar to Ito. And trust me when I say you will almost wish you didn't have the Grand Suite because it's hard to go back to anything less!

Enjoy.

I will be in a GS on Brilliance and was wondering did you get any of these extras because of your C&A staus or just because you were in a GS? If just for the GS then I have something else to look foward too...sweet!

Hope you enjoyed your cruise and thanks for posting this info.

Everyone has answered your post well. We had our first grand suite last year and have had an owners suite and another grand since. Our next will be in an aft jr. Which we have never done. Looking forward to the anticipated large balcony but I agree with fellow posters I think I have been spoiled. Just want to add one thing, the reserved seating by the pool must be a ship to ship perk because while we had it on Explorer, we did not on Liberty. Have fun!

These were all perks of being in a Grand Suite. The only thing I have gotten for my Crown and Anchor Society is the coupon booklet.

Many years ago I would get these gift packages, (well my dad would and he would give them to me if we sailed together) but it would be a small RCCL Carrying bag that had a hat and some other little gifties inside for the Crown and Anchor Society. That was under the old points system so those gifts might start at Diamond now. Not sure.

Correct, there was also no priority seating for Suite Guests on Board Brilliance near the pools either. But Oasis there was last June. But the benefit to cruising in the off season is seats are almost always available near the pool. :D

The above comes with the suite. C & A status provides other things, such as a selected gift, with the higher tier levels.

other days on Explorer which is also a Voyager Class ship we received cheese plate, chocolate covered strawberries - H'dorves - something was delivered everyday

You also can order enhanced room service or direct from the Main Dining room during dining hours

Oh and sit down breakfast served in Portofino's!

We were escorted off the ship for disembark - which was great!

You will love your GS!

I def. didn't realize we could get breakfast in Portofino's to avoid the crowd! That will be nice! Are the reserved seats by the pool in a decent area, or are they way up top or something?

Forward of the pools on the side as the stairs lead to the next deck to the bar - 5-6 rows.

Actually, every ship in the past couple of years seems to have a specialty drink or two in the CL. I have seen chocolate martinis, peach martinis, and margaritas. Have no idea how they get the special liquors to make these. I'm sure it is totally up to the concierge.

Now I'm even more excited! In the CL, will we be a little out of place? I'm 25 so I feel like myself and my girlfriend will be the youngest in there?

You might be, but who cares! When we had our GS on Freedom there were some younger couples with kids (maybe in their 30s) a couple of nights in the CL. We're in our 40s and were sometimes the youngest in there. It's definitely a laid back, quiet place to get a cocktail - not a big party scene ;) but it's still a very nice perk. One night they had an officers reception for suite guests. That was nice. The captain and senior officers circulated around, wanted to meet everyone...very welcoming. We also were invited to a galley tour and a bridge tour. Welcome to the suite life!

Enjoy your Grand Suite, the Adventure is a great ship. We didn't use the reserved area on the pool but did use the gold card area on the Ice show. :):)

Enjoy your JS...especially an aft one...I actually prefer the JS over the GS..not a fan of the closet stuck behind the dry bar area..very narrow and a bad design (JMHO)..love the walkin closet of the JS ;):)

No you won't be out of place due to your age...since the CL allows children sailing in a suite or those that have reached D+ status...and yes there are some...maybe more than you realize. ;):)

Wonder why - I even think we got them more than once - some kind of treat was delivered to our suite every day

breakfast is great! Seating by the pool should be to the left of the pool bar area in the stadium style seating - we thought the area was fine. Good view of the pool, near the bar and full sun.
