MLife?

Recommended Posts

I'm a Gold MLife Member because of my Diamond Crown and Anchor status. I just called Casino Club Royal to inquire about my Gold Card MLife Benefits and was told because I did not earn my Gold Card Status through the player rating of MLife but another party, in this case via my Diamond Crown and Anchor status I'm not entitled to the Gold MLife Benefits.

Any one else experience this?

I'm not sure I understood your post, but I will address what I thought you were asking.

If you were a Diamond in the C&A Society and were awarded the Gold level in M Life as a result, it works this way.

While sailing on Royal you are only entitled to what you would normally receive as a Diamond member, you cannot double dip and receive both C&A benefits and M Life benefits. You will find that the Diamond benefits generally are better.

When in a M Life casino you receive Gold level benefits based upon your C&A status. The reciprocity agreement works well for C&A members and let's hope Royal and M Life continue their partnership.

Thanks for your reply.

Some people have posted on another MLife thread that they were able to dbl dip or at least get the Free Specialty Restaurant Dinner.

I'll ask in the Casino on our Oasis Cruise next week and report back.

OK...I have a question. Can they view the activity on you MLife account?

If not, how in the heck do they know if you are only Gold because of the C&A status? You can easily get to Gold on MLife with a one week vacation to Vegas...book a suite, dine on the property, see a show or two (or three) on the various participating properties and maybe hit a retail shop or two. Heck, you may even reach Platinum. You only need to spend $3,000 in their program to reach Gold. The problem is the Tier credits expire on Oct. 1 of each year. So unless you are Diamond in C&A you keep losing your advances on MLife.

I am just like you Mlife gold because of Diamond status. I was able to get free specialty dinner and 5 drinks at the casino bar.

When I talked to MLife prior to the cruise I was told that this would be the caese, when I visited the casino hostess, that is exactly what she offered. If you show your gold MLife card they will not verify how you earned that status, but that you have that status. Don't expect customer service to be more aware of this than say how many people can stay in a specific stateroom or any other thing they are frequently wrong about as is reported here at CC.:D

I am looking at my Gold MLife card and it says Sep 2015 on it. So, my guess is it is good for two years.

jc,

Thanks for that information. I called the casino rep in Royal's corporate headquarters and was told the opposite. I guess the thing to do is to go to the casino host or hostess on each ship, show them your M Life card and see what happens.

RCI has recently altered the T&C on their website most likely to many taking advantage of this. They do state that Gold M Life status must be earned in order to qualify for the benefits.

Have some slipped through the cracks... Yes. Are they checking more... Probably.

I signed up for MLife, how do I put I my C&A number to get my gold status on MLife for being Diamond on Royal?

Keith

On the Mlife website their is a toll free number that you can call for all MLIFE enquiries.

I believe option 5 is for preferred partners. It took me about 5 minutes to add my C&A number to my account and get changed to GOLD. I just told them my C&A number and she was able to verify my level.

Just call MLife and give them your C&A number and you should be all set.

Good Luck! :)

FYI - I called MLife today and after being on hold for 15 minutes, got a VIP host who told me that they won't update the MLife status to gold over the phone, I would need to bring in my Royal Caribbean Diamond card to the hotel on my next visit and they would update it then.

This eliminates the ability to book a hotel in Vegas ahead of time using the Gold Status discounts or benefits which I should receive as a Diamond C&A member.

It would also mean that I would need to find my Crown & Anchor card, which I haven't seen for years.

Very frustrating! It sounds like others have had very different experiences.

Regarding the Diamond Card, some people have reported being able to use the printout of Royal's web page with your C&A point total and level.

you can sign up online for MLife. Then either email (I emailed them) or call with your C&A number. I was able to email my screen print of my D+ status.

within a couple of hours, my Mlife account was upgraded to Platinum. and it says by invitation only (meaning it was earned at the casino). They will not mail out your cards though. You must pick them up in person at the hotel. each year you have the status. I did go to vegas for my card.

While in Vegas I was able to use to MLife platinum card for access into a few venues for free, plus front of the line valet (taxi line works also); discount to shows and if you stay at an MGM they will likely upgrade you. I was at the Marriott.

So with MLife plat card in hand, during a couple of cruises in December and November, I tried to show it at the Casino. They had to call Miami RCI and came back and said since I had taken the balcony discount I wasn't entitled to the MLife benefits. We also had an inside room, under my DH name, who was also MLife Plat, but they also denied him any benefits. I didn't push it b/c they are right, I obtained due to RCL status and certainly did get some nice benefits in Vegas.

I believe most of the double dipping occurred when MLife and RCL first partnered up and not in the last, say, six months.

I'd be curious if anyone had any luck with specialty restaurants using MLife benefits acquired from RCL C&A status.

I have since signed up with Hyatt, who is a MLife partner and received status with them based on my Mlife platinum. I have an upcoming three week Hyatt stay in Taipei (no Marriotts in Taiwan), and thanks to this will get free internet. :D

I already have an Mlife account, and when I called they told me I had to come into the casino and show my C&A card to change my MLife status (not easy from St. Louis).

Can you share which email address you used? I'm beginning to think the MLife person I got on the phone was not the right one.

TIA!

My experience was as follows. I called M Life and was told I had to go to an M Life casino to make the change. I was already a gold level with M Life and wanted to use my C&A Diamond Plus level to get upgraded to the Platinum M Life level. Per instructions I went to the M Life desk at the casino with my C&A card and a printout from the My Cruises web page that showed my name, C&A number and Diamond Plus status. I had to wait 72 hours to pick up my new card, I guess so they had time to verify the information I had provided.

When I was on Liberty in January I went to the Casino host with my Platinum MLife number... It took her 2 days to verify... and then came back and said because I used the $35 C&A coupon to book the cruise I get NO MLife benefits... I'm hoping the benefits in Vegas are better! I have to say that I've heard the Casino host on the Liberty is very TIGHT... and not at all interested in awarding any perks. I was Platinum in MLife prior to linking my C&A number... I just think the whole thing is a joke.

Oh... and it was a nightmare trying to get 'rated'... If the pit boss was in a good mood they'd track my play... but if not.. well... forget that. I did learn to buy in at $500 or more to even get a 'look' from the pit boss... and I played the minimum for at least 4 hours every night. But... I didn't cash in each evening and start out with cash the next day... so when I started with chips they paid no attention to me... and even one boss wouldn't track my play at all. Will give it a try on another ship. I'm loyal to Royal... but not because of the Casino perks... there are none! If you are looking for casino perks best to try NCL... :)
