sjnyc323 Posted November 1, 2015 #5826 Share Posted November 1, 2015 My Ode to NCL At the break of Dawn I want to Breakaway & Getaway and Escape on a brand new adventure. I want to reach for the Sun and Star shining so brightly in the Sky like a Jewel, a Gem, a Jade and a Pearl. Lift my Spirit high and feel so full of Bliss and take Pride Of America and feel free. What an Epic adventure that would be!!!

LrgPizza Posted November 2, 2015 #5828 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Does anyone know if the there is a drop down deck in spice revealing a pool like there is on the Epic? No pool. They have the grotto which is much cooler.
jmele999 Posted November 2, 2015 #5829 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Steamboat - Thanks for all of the great pictures. What was your impression of Bayamo? The portion size appears to be very small including the Bife de Chorizo.
sixesandeights Posted November 2, 2015 #5830 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Did anyone get gelato at Dulce? What were the prices? Was the gelato any good? 6&
FreestyleNovice Posted November 2, 2015 Author #5831 Share Posted November 2, 2015 I'm very interested in NCL's first nursery on the Escape as I'm travelling with my 18 month old. Has anyone read anything anywhere about it? When I called NCL a few weeks back, they would answer no questions till the ship came out.
FreestyleNovice Posted November 2, 2015 Author #5832 Share Posted November 2, 2015 No pool. They have the grotto which is much cooler. Escape's Spice wins from Epic for me! :) I might even rebook my upcoming Epic cruise..
Jeff&Pam Posted November 2, 2015 #5833 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Gee, DH is fast, he already has his pictures online and by some reason he managed to get exactly 678 photos online :D! steamboats Thank you....pictures of the haven deluxe spa suite! Rare steamboats Posted November 2, 2015 #5834 Share Posted November 2, 2015 So if there is a "Bake Shop" in the atrium on 6, is there a separate "Bake Shop" on 8 by Dolce Gelato where Carlos was advertised to be? If so, do they carry the same bakery products, or do they have cake, cheesecake, etc.? Yes, both venues are selling the same stuff. It was macarons and two sizes of cupcakes only no other cakes or cheesecake. steamboats
Rare steamboats Posted November 2, 2015 #5835 Share Posted November 2, 2015 What was your impression of Bayamo? The portion size appears to be very small including the Bife de Chorizo. Food was really excellent. I only had the Salpicon de Mariscos as we had a dinner at Le Bistro scheduled. My friends had the Bife de Chorizo which is Wagyu beef what explains the price. They also had the Matambee (Beef Carpaccio - forgot to take a photo of that). They both were very pleased with the meat quality and preparation. The meat part of the Bife de Chorizo was well sized. You can "complain" about the sides which were more on the "small side". Anyway with a 3 course meal you didn´t leave hungry. steamboats
SuiteCruiser Posted November 2, 2015 #5836 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Not sure if this was already mentioned, as my wifi onboard is spotty, but the Platinum certificate for "Behind the Scenes Tour" says it's been stopped pending further notice from Miami. This is one ship I'd love to do the BTST on.
SissasMomE Posted November 2, 2015 #5837 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Escape's Spice wins from Epic for me! :) I might even rebook my upcoming Epic cruise.. Wow - this is huge because I love Spice on Epic!
FreestyleNovice Posted November 2, 2015 Author #5838 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Wow - this is huge because I love Spice on Epic! Escape wins on all fronts, Epic's Spice might feel a bit more intimate and has the appetizers but now MV is open langer (or even all day)... Having done (and paid for) the tour on the Getaway, I can say that it was worth every penny.

Loonbeam Posted November 2, 2015 #5845 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Would make sense for a time to suspend it because of all the logistics issues involved in getting a new ship design up and running. I would give them a few months to be comfortable. Not doing it at all

Zena2005 Posted November 2, 2015 #5847 Share Posted November 2, 2015 Not doing it at all Maybe if there is enough interest, NCL will offer this again. It's obvious they are in tune with message boards such as Cruise Critic so here's hoping. I know Our group traveling in May on the Escape would be interested. LrgPizza Posted November 2, 2015 #5850 Share Posted November 2, 2015 FYI - The District Brewhouse is adult only, all the time. (I've not kept up on any posts since I've been on board, so not sure if that had been shared before.)
