Reassure me about Allure Cabin Location!

Recommended Posts

We are sailing on Allure in September in a balcony cabin on Deck 6. I am apprehensive about the location - lower on the ship than we usually sail and so many floors from the pool and other public areas. BUT - closer to the restaurants, casino, dining rooms, etc.

Please tell me I'll enjoy the location. DH wants an ocean balcony and the higher decks are SO expensive!

I actually prefer to be on the lower decks on the Allure. I was on deck 7 and it was near everything except for the pool and windjammer. The elevators on this ship though are plentiful and work well. So you will have no issue getting to wherever you need to be. In fact the walking on the same deck is worse than being able to take an elevator to get up or down.

Was on deck 6 last time and will be again in Nov. I like the easy access to the Boardwalk for breakfast at Johnny Rocket's.

Also prefer being closer to the aft elevators for easy access to the places we frequent most. With DH on a scooter it is hard to navigate those long hallways.

I've never noticed any significant difference in cabin location. Upper deck, lower deck, fore, aft....whatever. The cabins in the same category are all the same, so I focus on enjoying my vacation, rather than fretting over the cabin location.

You can walk to anywhere in the ship in just a few minutes, so location should not be that big of an issue.

I prioritize cabin location over category so I would disagree with you.

If cabin location didn't matter to most people, the categories would all be the same on each deck for the same size room. And that is not the case.

I agree - location means a lot to me - if not, I wouldn't have asked the question!

I prefer Deck 8 to be by Central Park but I would take Deck 6 over Deck 7.

I would rather be by restaurants than pools for easier breakfast/coffee/snack access.

Hello Marci, Why would you choose six over seven?

Get you husband a balcony. The cat prices are the same on any deck. Also all d cats are the same size, so you could get a d8 and get the exact same cabin as a d1. Deck 6 is fine

Hello Marci, Why would you choose six over seven?

Deck 7 has aft elevator banks that don't connect. So if you come up or down on one side, you can't just cross over. You either have to go up or down a flight, cross over, and then come back.

I wouldn't rule out Deck 7, I just would prefer 8 or 6.

Also I frequently get lost even mid-cruise so I would be hopeless if I had to remember what side to be on for the elevator :o

We were on deck 6 in a midship balcony on the hump. Would choose it again in a heartbeat. It is close to boardwalk and Central Park which we enjoyed. We never take the elevators when we are on board and use the stairs as part of our exercise routine.

We did the luggage walk off, and it was simple from this deck. No waiting on elevators that were always packed with people.

Enjoy

Thanks for that. Just booked deck 7. Not going to change it as we have a balcony with a promenade across the hall for the kids but never even thought of the elevators.
