Q: What items are not allowed onboard the cruise ship?

A: Weapons, illegal drugs, and other items that could interfere with the safe operation of the ship or the safe and secure environment of our guests and crew are prohibited. The following are examples of items that guests are not allowed to bring onboard. These and other similar items will be confiscated upon being found. Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, flammable liquids, explosives, and dangerous chemicals will not be returned..

Prohibited items:

Firearms & Ammunition, including realistic replicas.

Sharp Objects, including all knives and scissors. (Note: Personal grooming items such as safety razors are allowed. Scissors with blade length less than 4 inches are allowed.)

Illegal Drugs & Substances

Candles, Incense, Coffee Makers, Clothes Irons, Travel Steamers & Hot Plates. (Items that generate heat or produce an open flame. This includes heating pads, clothing irons, hotplates, candles, incense and any other item that may create a fire hazard. NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons and hair straighteners. Matches and normal lighteners are allowed onboard. However "torch lighters" and novelty lighters that look like guns are not allowed onboard. Torch lighters emit a powerful concentrated flame, and therefore are prohibited.

Baseball Bats, Hockey Sticks, Cricket Bats, Bows & Arrows

No you can't! We just got off the Jewell and as we were leaving immigration saw a table of confiscated irons and steamers so I wouldn't even bother trying.

Steamers, too? OOPS, just saw they are also listed under prohibited. Seems people always post that those are ok. If one packs correctly, there is no need for either.:)

We just wear wrinkled clothing and don't really care. We try to purchase less wrinkle clothes, hang them up after we unpack...and if they are still wrinkled when we wear them...oh well. :D:):D

Everyone else is in the same ship...so to speak. :D

At home I iron EVERYTHING..aside from underwear and sheets. Everything. However when on vacation I don't iron a thing - know why? Because I iron before I pack, and I pack perfectly so there are hardly any wrinkles. Either I roll the item, or I fold it using tissue paper between the folds (some swear by those plastic dry cleaning bags). I suggest you try this approach rather than risk any type of iron. I can pack DH's suit and my dresses without noticable wrinkles. Besides, who really wants to iron on vacation? OR spend money for pressing? Not me! And we always look neat.

We probably always look scruffy. :D Because we don't iron at home or pack neatly either. :D:rolleyes:

Maybe you didn't mean it the way that it came across so if you didn't, overlook me. But if you did...Wow, REALLY?!?

I was simply trying to say if one packs correctly then an iron or steamer is not needed, and your clothes will be fine and you will look neat. It is not my style to post an insulting comment. If you look at the time difference between my post and the one before, you can almost tell we were typing at the same time.

Truly sorry if I offended anyone :o

11th post to get the requisite "I do it anyway" post. I doubt thats a record.

I don't know who you were you addressing? I think there is a full size iron in our back closet. If we don't iron much at home...we're certainly not going to do it on vacation.

Or was that just some random comment...?

If it is a steamer ONLY, you are ok. Meaning it has NO exposed hot plate on it. If it is the plastic type that ONLY emits steam, no problem! It's functionally not much different than a humidifier...

Also, make your own wrinkle release; liquid fabric softener diluted about 6:1 with water. $1 makes about 5 spray bottles. Pennies on the dollar for Downy Wrinkle Release.

CB was actually right on this btw...not that anyone would admit that.

Ehhhh, maybe. Many have said they were no problem BUT, according to the list of prohibited items, they are, ummmmm technically prohibited. Then there is the poster who said they saw them confiscated along with irons.

I assure you that as long as there is NO hot plate (as an iron, or a steamer iron would have) you will be okay.

Something like this; steam only, no plate, no pressing.
