What is your experience with Standby Offers?

I have NEVER seen that screen before.

This is what it says, and has always said, under My Dream Deals:

"This is a collection of offers selected for you and emailed over the past few weeks. If you see a blank page, offers may be in the works and your deals will be posted soon. Or, if you haven't registered yet, it's easy to sign up. Simply click on "My Profile," check your address and mark your email preference. Offers don't last long, so book your Dream Deal today"

Apologies if you have already done this and are still having the problem but I just wanted you to see how MY screens look so you can compare...

Go to Standby Program from this screen

ry%3D400

Then I check my departure ports of choice

ry%3D400

And then from the drop down box select the time frame of my standby availability

ry%3D400

Check under Personal Profile and your Member Profile and make your email address is correctly entered???

Just seems very very odd and yet others are like you and not getting the emails...wonder if they can see the 'View Deals' on their My Princess page?

Remydiva- thank you for your help. I actually have every city except Southhampton checked, and have since 2009. I believe it's because we have 30 Princess cruises currently booked that we're not included in any deals. I just spoke with my friend and neighbor who has 2 Princess cruises and none booked, and her Dream Deals list a slew of cruises.

I just went into the standby program on my personalizer to verify that I had the same options as in the photos. I do, and had checked some ports but alas never received any notifications. Hmmm.... I will have to keep a closer eye out.

I can't see that menu anywhere. Here's what I get:

I haven't completed my first Princess cruise yet... could that be the reason I don't see it?

You need to sign in to My Princess. (I do not know if someone who has not cruised Princess before can sign up for it.) So click on My Princess and see if you can set up an account.

If you can get into My Princess, click on the "My Profile" link and then there will be a link to the Standby Program.

Thanks for the help Caribill. Unfortunately I still don't see it. Logged into My Princess and searched everywhere with no luck. Here's what I'm seeing (with personal info redacted):

The picture you show here you get to from clicking "Contact Details" on the first Member Profile Page. The "Contact Details" link was on the left halfway down the page.

Instead, on that first Member Profile Page, go to the upper right. There are nine links in a box there, one of which is "StandBy Program."

We've been signed up for over 4 years and have never been presented with the opportunity to do a stand by cruise. I wonder if they go first to people with no Princess cruises booked?

this is my experience, too. I have tons of cruises booked and I'm signed up for the specials. Never had one offer come my way. Guess I should stop booking???? I don't think so. I would probably look at a special deal, too.

I've done the whole bit as shown above. Years ago when the website was new I was doing a cruise for 20 plus people and went on line to check everything. I was actually accusec by Princess that I was trying to alter, manipulate and cheat them. I think I went on the naughty list and that's why I don't get any offers. I'm the great website cheater of all time. In reality, I was just checking to make sure that everyone's info was correct. They said I was trying to cheat them and get a better manipulated price. I guess the fact I had all their personal information suggested that I knew had to rewrite computer code and it was all from the same IP code. I wish I was that smart.

Actually another name for these "standby" offers is a "flash" sale. I just signed up some years ago on the Princess website before I started on any sailing. When my wife and I retired 5 years ago, we wanted to take a one-way to Alaska since we had always wanted to do that. We at first worked with a local TA and she said we would have very little chance of booking a summer cruise to Alaska with discount since it was high season in July and August and besides people would book one year advance. Her news was very discouraging since we didn't want to wait one whole year. In fact she said to find a "deal", we would need to go in May or Sept. It was in mid July when we received an email from Princess with the "flash" sale and sure enough there was a super deal of 75% discount off regular fare for mid August sailing of the Voyage of the Glaciers. It was so good and unbelievable that we actually had to call Princess to confirm that was not a bogus offer. We signed up immediately but with such a short notice booking a flight out of Chicago to Anchorage one way then Vancouver to Chicago was the killer, we had to pay thru the nose for the airfare. Since we had never been to Anchorage nor Vancouver before, we were successful in booking some very nice hotels thru Hotwire for really cheap price for a few days of R&R. That turned out to be the best cruise ever based on our limited sailing (we had sailed before by taking some smaller European cruise ships in Europe). Since all the better cabins were sold out, we could only get an inside cabin at the lowest level but Princess was nice enough to upgrade us to the "best" inside cabin available on the Aloha deck. It was fine by us since we were spending lots of time on the upper decks anyway. The service and attention we received during the cruise were simply out of this world. We had no clue why but they singled us out and we received the red carpet treatment. The head waiter and wine director would stop by frequently to make sure we were happy with the food and wine choices. Our regular waiter would give us undivided attention. They would even bring us trays of appetizers and food from the specialty dining rooms to serve us that we never asked for. It was actually quite embarrassing since the rest of the diners were starring at us wondering why we got the special treatment. Every evening when we strolled into the main dining room at peak dinner time when there was an hour wait and without any reservation, we would be immediately escorted to our table for two right by the window. To this date, we have yet to figure why.

A second "flash" sale flyer showed up 2 years ago for a 14-day cruise to Hawaii in Feb for an early March sailing from Los Angeles for only $599 for a balcony, unbelievable price. Since it was bitterly cold in the Midwest and we wanted to go someplace to get thawed out, we just grabbed this super price. It was a good cruise based on the price we paid but we felt there were too many sea days before and after the 4 days of island hopping. This time we didn't get the special red carpet treatment despite the fact that we spent over $2,000 just on wine (yes, we are big time wine drinkers).

Just a few days ago, Princess sent out another last minute specials with Alaska sailing on July 2 for Voyage of the Glaciers for only $699 balcony, a heck of a deal for peak season and perfect to catch the beginning of the fabulous and awesome salmon runs.

So, yes, we have used these flash sales from Princess and they are truly good deals. Good luck to all of you.

Thanks again for the patience and help Caribill!

I do think I'm doing something wrong and that we are seeing different things. From the main Princess page I click "Sign In / Register" and fill out the pop-up box. I then click "My Princess" and get a page that looks like this:

ry%3D480

Clicking "My Profile" leads me to the page I posted before, which you described as the "Contact Details" on the first Member Profile Page.

If I click on the link under "My Dream Deals" I get a page with no offers that says "This is a collection of offers selected for you and emailed over the past few weeks. If you see a blank page, offers may be in the works and your deals will be posted soon. Or, if you haven't registered yet, it's easy to sign up. If anyone has any clues to what's going wrong, I'd love to find out where I'm messing up. (I'm actually not that hopeless when it comes to tech issues as I seem to be in this thread.)

As you can see, I'm heading off on my first Princess Cruise in a couple of weeks, so I'm thinking I may not be able to sign up because of that.

TIA!

Videophile....

Maybe it is because you have 0 cruises thus you are not yet a member of captain circle yet.

There is no CCN: line under your name ( Captain Circle Number).

When you cruise in a few days, you will get a blue card signifying you are a new cruiser and than AUTOMATICALLY will become a member and get a CCN number and a GOLD card..

Check back to your MY PRINCESS after you get back and see if the standby page appears.

You are definitively getting something different when you click on "My Profile." Here is what I see:
