Carnival Gift Card - 10% Bonus Offer

Recommended Posts

Thanks for letting us know to use "open value". Went off without a hitch. Got my emailed gift card already, and I am sure the bonus will come thru shortly. Can't wait to pay off the cruise, and put the rest towards OBC.

I bought mine yesterday @ 9:40 am and immediately received the confirmation email. Received the actual e-card about a minute later.

Received THREE emails with the bonus e-card - two at midnight and one at 5 am. I was hoping they'd messed up and sent me three different ones, but they all have the same card number and pin. Darn! I thought I might FINALLY get a gift from Carnival, since the player's club seems to hate me and never sends me any free or discounted offers, no matter how much I spend in the casino! :o

I bought 5 e-card..got 2 emails for each one..and the same with the promos...thought for a minute may-be it was a two for one sale..:D

The same thing happened to me. I panicked at first and thought somehow my credit card put it through twice but they have the same promo numbers.

For anyone wondering, I was able to buy the GC on a different computer. All my home computers and laptops would not go to that one sight? I asked our tech and he couldn't figure it out either as I cleared cookies/history/tuned on off/unplugged net... it was so weird.

I am from Canada and the only way I was able to purchase was to put in a USA zip code even though it had Canadian provinces. Now just waiting for the 10% ecard as the purchase was 8 hours ago????

I bought mine yesterday and the GC's came immediately. The promos showed up at 5am this morning.

b_cruise, I'm glad you were finally able to get something to work! ;)

Still no luck.. I thought it may be an iPad thing but the computer won't open either. I'll try tomorrow at work I guess...work priorities, lol!

This is just a stab in the dark, but are you using Internet Explorer? I have found that I cannot do Carnival stuff on IE but must use Chrome. You might try that.

NOTE: I wrote that before reading to the end where I see you had success. You might still look into the Chrome thing, though.

So glad you were able to get this through. It seems the ecards go through at midnight or at 5:00 am. Both of mine came through at those times. You may even see it come in twice but the same card # and order # will be on it so don't worry.

Just wondering if these gift cards can be used to pay gratituties......do not see this written. All I can see is usable for onboard expenses/purchases. I assume cannot be used for bon voyage. Can anyone clear this up for me. Cruise all paid. Thanks

Does anyone have experience using giftcards towards casino and/or the Cheers program. These are our biggest expenses on the cruise and I want to be sure that I can use them towards these before purchasing.

I used $250 worth of giftcards on my May 17th cruise on the Sunshine toward the Cheers program ... you just take the cards to guest services and they apply them to sign and sail .... I had actually already purchased the Cheers before I took them to Guest Services .. no problem at all :)

Let me see if I understand all this. I will buy a gift card to pay off my balance on my already booked cruise. I then will get a gift card for 10% of that amount. Can I put that gift card on my S & S card to be used for on board purchases? But not for tips and the cheers program.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I used gift cards to pay off my tips before I ever got on the cruise May 17th...and then once onboard I went and put $250 worth of gift cards on my sign and sail card and I did purchase the Cheers program onboard

the cards can be applied to your sign and sail card...the would suggest to me that it would pay for any of your onboard purchases.

some people have stated that they have been able to order a bottle ( or whatever) onboard. I have never done this, but if possible that would be billed to your sign and sail account.

In an earlier post, I asked if your TA had to make the gift card request or to apply it once it was obtained. No one replied so I will tell you what happened to me. When I called Carnival, the Carnival Rep said you had to use your TA. The next day I called the Carnival Promotions Department and they handled the processing without any problem. Today I bought another gift card on my own on the web and will call the Promotions Department tomorrow to apply it. I do plan to advise the TA of all the adjustments once it is all finalized.

One consideration to make is that if you have to cancel your cruise, you will lose use of your promotion gift card after December 31, 2014. The regular gift card could be used on a future cruise since there is no deadline date but you would have to hold that card until the time of the future cruise. If you apply both the gift card and the promotion gift card to the cruise cost, you won't have those problems if you have cruise insurance and a legitimate cancellation reason. Some thing to think about. Does this make sense or am I missing some thing? I did leave about $350 still to be paid when final payment is due since I have 5 months to go and I figure that it would be easier to get price reductions (Military rate) if Carnival did not have to write a check.

With regards to insurance, a friend that is sailing with us purchased the insurance thru Carnival. She found out that, if she has to cancel after she has already paid the cruise off with a gift card, that her reimbursement from Carnival would be in the form of another gift card. Which is ok, I guess, but you would then be forced to take a Carnival cruise at a later date.

What's the deal with the mastercard? I just signed up for one but I haven't received it yet. I'm going to order gift cards also.

Will it be fine to use the gift card for 2 different cabin accounts? I plan to order $600 but I'm wondering if I should order 2 cards at $300 each since we have 2 cabins booked.

You specify how much you want to pay. So yes, you can get 1 for $600. and pay on 2 cabins.

Enjoy!

I can't get the page to load! Is it because I live in the UK? I've booked through the US site so was hoping I could buy gift cards to pay off my b2b's! Any ideas as I've tried Chrome and clearing everything but still won't load!

Thanks! Any idea if I will be able to use the gift cards to set up my onboard account, rather than using a credit card? I have completed all my documents except the onboard account info.

Couldn't you just set it up as Cash and then apply your gift cards once you board?

Yes I guess that makes sense. I've never set it up as cash before. I assume there is no problem if someone sets it up as cash then comes on board an only uses a credit card.

Totally happened to me. I had to go to a different Internet providers computer. I tried safari firefox chrome, deleted everything, cookies etc, did not work... I even talked to our tech. He thought it may be Internet provider issue.

I apologize if this has already been asked...

Can the gift cards be applied through an on-line travel agent to Carnival or do I somehow have to get the travel agent to work with Carnival to receive the payments?

I have a travel agent and don't want to cancel the booking or anything, but don't want to get stuck with too much value on gift cards if they can't be applied when going through a TA.

Thanks in advance.

The Gift Card Promo worked like a charm. Our family is booked for a cruise in May 2015. Went in yesterday to purchase e-cards to pay the balance in full (and then a little extra for excursions and onboard credit). E-cards were delivered within minutes of making the transaction. (One warning -- the bank my credit card is issued through did call halfway through my purchase of the giftcards to insure that the purchases were legit).

The promo cards were received in my email inbox twice (once right after midnight last night -- and again at 5am this morning) -- had the same card numbers, so Carnival is double sending out the emails for some reason.

Went into my booking this morning this morning, applied the promo cards first -- and then the purchased cards. Worked like a charm. Nice to see no balance remaining emotion-2.gif

Here is the fine print on the cards:

"Carnival Gift Cards can be used on almost anything: towards the purchase of a Carnival cruise, activities/shore excursions, and redeemed onboard toward the Sail & Sign account for gifts, drinks, and fun. Using your gift card is easy but do not share this email, as it is the same as cash."

The cards I purchased indicate "This e-card does not expire." The promotional cards state "This is a promotional gift card and the card expires on 6/13/2015." That is why I applied the promotional cards first to the balance of my booking.

Thought I would share. If it hadn't been for kind folks on the forums I would never have known about the offer. Thanks to all of you for posting for us newbies!

Thanks for your reply. Just wondering how you prepaid tips before your cruise if one has to go to guest services to put the amount on their S&S card. Thanks

Yes, thank you to the OP of this. I paid off our September cruise this week using these gift cards. Saved almost $250 with the bonus cards! Our final payment is due in a month and I was going to wait until closer to pay it off, but couldn't resist this bonus.

Got it to work! Turned off my wifi and used my 3G on my phone and worked first time! Just waiting on the 10% promo gift card arriving in my inbox! How long does it take for it to arrive? Only bought one to see if it worked! Want to order another for my other b2b!

Based on my experience (and that of other posters) you should see it sometime after midnight tonight.
