Islander500 Posted June 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Hi all, I'm considering upgrading to an AQ cabin since prices went down on a future cruise. We really like Blu! :) Can anyone recommend quiet AQ cabins on deck 9 on the Constellation or because of their location under an active deck, are they all pretty noisy? Thanks much! alcpa1 Posted June 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2014 We have had a number of deck 9 cabins even before the Aqua class conversion. I think the cabins aft of the middle elevators and the internet area are quieter. Many of these cabins are under the carpeted Lido area so there is no noise from above. Either side of the ship is fine. The further you go back the quieter since there is little ambient noise from passengers. One of the frequent posters mentioned 9108 as your starting point and ironically we were about to sail on the Infinity in the very same cabin. He was right. As you know the deck 9 plans for the Connie and the Infinity are identical.
Northern Aurora Posted June 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 11, 2014 We were recently in stateroom 9072 on the Constellation, and found it very quiet.
Rare ghstudio Posted June 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) 9108 and further back are under carpeted section of the buffet area and you get no noise from above. 9106 is under a service area and you may hear service carts from above. Not sure what the comparable cabins are on the port side, but we've been in 9108 and 9110 on the infinity and millennium and had friends in 9106 who mentioned the noise from above. Gracie115 Posted June 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Why not try the AQ cabins on deck 11 unless they are a LOT more expensive? they are brand new, and the cabins on the side are VERY quiet. Never any noise from above. We will book there anytime we are on Connie again, specifically 1116 or surrounding staterooms....
bobsfamily Posted June 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2014 We were in 9127 this past March and had no noise from above, great location near the elevators. Next Feb. we grabbed one of the larger aft facing balconies on Deck 11.

I think 1112 and 1114 on the Summit for Aug 2015. We are going to give them a try.
signman Posted June 11, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Are any of the AQ cabins obstructed. Is there an overhang from Pool Deck that is bothersome? Thanks.
bobsfamily Posted June 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2014 Are any of the AQ cabins obstructed. Is there an overhang from Pool Deck that is bothersome? Thanks. Pretty much ALL AQ2 (deck 9) have a overhang from the pool/buffet area. Makes for a shady place to hang out but no sun, no stars directly above. AQ1 is deck 11 and are open to the sun/stars. 1138/1140/1142 have the largest AQ balconies on the Connie and they are aft facing with the Sunset Bar below them. Rare hcat Posted June 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 11, 2014 When Concierge class was intoduced in these now AQ cabins...it was suspected they made the new class w/special perks to get folks to book them b/c the overhang and location under an active deck made them less popular... We have AQ booked on Connie...we'll appreciate the shade and hope not too much noise above us...BLU is worth it
Islander500 Posted June 14, 2014 Author #11 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Thanks all. We decided to try one of the AQ cabins on the side of deck 11. Appreciated all the suggestions. :)
retiredslug Posted June 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 14, 2014 Recently returned from TA in AQ on deck 11--wonderful. After many cruises this was the first time I did not need ear plugs! And Blu, can't even imagine cruising Celebrity without access to Blu and Persian Gardens. Will be trying Reflection next year and hopefully all dining adjustments will have been completed by then.
