Room Service Eggs Benedict

Just trying to find out if Eggs Benedict is available on regular breakfast room service menu, or only Concierge Class and/or Suites or even available at all.

I want to order it for breakfast and may or may not upgrade depending on availability (I know it is a little thing, but one of my favorite breakfasts.)

Not in Balcony or Concierge based on our last two trips. Im not sure I would order it anyway from room service given the risk of it being overdone or cold given the distance it has to travel. The buffet has so many combinations of Eggs Benedict.

It's not normally available apart from the special Crab eggs Benedict for a surcharge. You could also try writing the regular kind on the bottom of the door hanger menu though, ask nicely and they may deliver :)

You really don't want to order that from room service. My DH loves eggs Benedict and ordered once from room service, but the egg was cold and the topping of what was supposed to be Hollandaise sauce was congealed and nasty.

We wrote it in and got it. It was pretty good. I usually tip and that always helps with good repeat service.

I've only been on one Celebrity Cruise on the Millie. We ordered breakfast room service twice and each time it was cold.

But.....my favorite treat was going to the Poached Egg station for hot and fresh eggs benny the rest of the mornings. They come in several combinations ....cannot wait for my next cruise on The Infinity. I hope they are as good.

You can always do what we do, order coffee, pastries, fruit from Room Service, then make a buffet run to pick up the hot items you want and bring back to the cabin to enjoy with the coffee and other items from Room Service. Works out well. You do need to get dress but worth it.

Even regular eggs from room service are sometimes a bit cool so I can't imagine eggs benedict from room service. I do like the eggs benedict/poached egg station in the buffet - it is great.

Now a suite with a butler would be a different story. We only had a suite once (sky suite on the former Celebrity Galaxy) and the room service breakfast served by the butler was always perfect. Our friends in the suite next door had eggs benedict once and they said it was just right when served by the butler.

We order all our breakfasts to eat on our balcony. It is our indulgence and we love to sit on the balcony in our housecoats and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. I am not a lover of breakfast food but love eggs benedict - I also order their granola parfait made with fat free yogurt and lots of berries. I have never had eggs cold and nasty. Sometimes the hollandaise sauce is quite light but that just means less fat directly to my hips!!! I guess every chef has their own recipe. I would suggest you order it and if you don't like it, then you have given it a chance. Also, if it is not on the menu just write it in and you will get it.

Taking my first Celebrity Cruise this Christmas on the Summit. Does the Summit have the poached egg station on the buffet? I'm a big Eggs Benedict fan and this sounds like a great way to start the day.

Agree on the "coolness" with Eggs Benedict through room service breakfast. Have done two cruises on the Solstice, including down under for Australia and New Zealand as detailed below. That was with a Celebrity Suite. Earlier had been in Concierge Class. Getting those eggs and wonderful sauce to our room at the right/best temperature is just not very likely. Sorry!! Wish they could do "IT" better, but those logistics from the kitchen to your room just don't allow things to be done in an ideal manner.

At the buffet, I did like them putting the special sauce not just on the eggs, but in spiking up the potatoes, etc. Just ask!! They'll be happy to pour it on!! Love the sauce, especially when it is nice and hot. Below is a recent "sauce success" while in Colorado earlier this month. Does this make you hungry?

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Back from doing a 14-day Celebrity Solstice, Jan. 20-Feb. 3, 2014, Sydney to Auckland adventure on this ship and getting a big sampling for the wonders of "down under” before and after this cruise. Go to:

From visiting central Colorado earlier in July, including Breckenridge, here is a wonderful and filling breakfast with poached eggs, real, slow-cooked corned beef hash, potatoes and topped with classic Hollandaise sauce. What else to eat at an altitude of nearly two miles up??:

YES!! Guilty as charged and damn proud of it. Love getting and sharing fun "food porn" visuals from cruises and other travels. BUT, don't forget dinner, too. Here are two examples to prove why you also need to get a good meal in the evening. Don't spend too much time on an exercise bike.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Celebrity Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of nice visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, food success, etc., on these postings. We are now at 178,419 views for this live/blog re-cap on our first sailing with Celebrity and much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

Here is a wonderful Colorado rack of lamb at a great dining place in Crested Butte only seating 35 lucky customers. Second is a picture of the chef in his kitchen giving me the thumbs up after I told him how much we loved the food at Soupson. Super dining!!:

My wife gets it all the time. I go to the buffet and get it for her!

They did when we went this past February. My husband went there every single day. He's gluten intolerant so can't have traditional eggs benedict. His new friend Keshia made him fresh poached eggs every morning on smoked salmon with hollandaise. I joked about him being in love with "poached egg girl". He enjoyed them very much. :D
