rodenboy Posted July 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2014 Hi everybody, Not sure if there is a thread about this or not. I am soon to be on a b2b Allure cruise and am just wondering whether when we get off the ship at the end of week 1, are we are allowed to go and do something in Ft Lauderdale during the day? I will be posting a review on my return as well so look out for it!

However, if you do opt out of immediately re-boarding the ship with the other B2B guests, you may not be able to re-board until regular boarding starts for the new guests. Kamloops50 Posted July 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 31, 2014 You'll have to disembark after the first cruise. The passenger count has to zeroed before embarkation begins. Why not take a ship's excursion to the everglades or something similar. You should be given an in-transit card . This will allow you to re board as soon you get back. Lady Chew Posted July 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2014 We did a b2b on Adventure earlier this year ... For our mandatory disembarkation we assembled in one of the lounges. We had already received our sea pass cards for the second cruise) After everyone else had left the ship, we got in a line, went through security using our old passes, walked into the terminal and back out, and back onto the ship using our new passes. Not counting the time we sat in the lounge waiting to get started, it took less than 15 minutes. Those people who had excursion or errands or whatever simply kept going when the rest of us returned to the ship. However, they could not reboard until the ship was cleared for the next cruise to begin boarding. Period, no exceptions.

You really wont know until your on the ship because the system changes at the whim of the US ICE

(just ask on board) If you are comfortable driving in the U.S., rent a car and go everywhere. Visit the ocean, drive around and look at the houses, go shopping at Sawgrass Mill. Lots to do if you've never been there before. :)

Our experience with consecutive cruises is that there is no special excursion offered the morning of debarkation to consecutive cruisers. The only time that might change is if there was a server Noro outbreak and they wanted everyone off the ship for a certain number of hours. Otherwise, consecutive cruisers on on their own. And just an FYI, but in some ports (foreign mainly), consecutive cruisers do not have to disembark the ship. Many times the debarkation officer will ding out the SeaPass Cards of those staying on for the next cruise and still be able to record a zero count. We were disappointed to learn that the Cape Canaveral excursion would only drop off at the airport, and they would not make arrangements to get us back to the port to return for the second leg of our back-to-back. We are looking to spend a few hours in Ft Lauderdale and perhaps grab some lunch on land before returning to the ship about 2pm approx. I think people are boarding by that point usually aren't they? We only do consecutive cruises and have never been offered an excursion on turnaround day. So roughly how long would that be? Sent from my iPad using Forums How turnaround day is handled depends on the ship and the Port Authorities. That goes for if you have to get off or not. If you are planning on returning about 2PM you should be fine. You will be given an "in-transit" card which you will show the pier reps upon your return back to the ship. This will allow you to bypass check-in and just walk on board.

Sent from my iPad using Forums You definintely have the right idea imo. Head out to the Ft Lauderdale water taxis, inexpensive and a great ride! I had a horrible experience in Miami last year, getting stuck in a dark hallway in customs building for 2 1/2 hours because zero count wasn't achieved. escorted off the ship at 9:30am and not back on until just after 12, at same time they allowed new passengers. Total zoo.... Initally was going to taxi to Miami beach for the morning and a nice walk and come back around 2-2:30, I regretted that decision. Conversely, off in Colon early with the rest of the passengers, did an excursion, and back into the terminal at 3pm and on the gangway in 5 minutes (you already have your new seapass card at that point so security points you in a direction bypassing the entire check-in process directly to the elevators) :D It varies from ship to ship so you should 100% ask, but I believe if you get your seapass card and "consecutive cruisers meeting" the day before, you will not meet again the next day (only those wanting to stay on board will meet again) and you can disembark early on your own with everyone else. A consecutive cruisers meeting is not always held. It all depends on the number of people remaining on board for the next cruise. We've had both, a meeting and then instructions in letter form delivered to our cabin the morning prior to turnaround day.
