Military credit ?

Others haven't mentioned it, but it now shows up as a permanent credit in the Captains Circle account area - you don't have to keep applying for every cruise once you qualify.

I had this credit on my cruise two years ago, but it doesn't show up as an OBC on my current booking. Do I need to redo the form or just call my TA?

I would start with the easiest and just call the TA so they can check with Princess. Then you can always redo the form if something had hiccuped in Princess' system.

Thanks, Astro Flyer and Colo Cruiser, for that info on the military OBC. I wanted to use the credit for the gratuities and it's nice to know I can.

That's what I get for actually believing what's written down! :)

Any credits that you have against your account will offset any charges to your account. It's that simple.

You're welcome & like you I also believed that statement (military bearing? :p) until experiencing otherwise several times. ;)

Enjoy this wonderful benefit Princess provides to many veterans & if you ever sail on a longer cruise that can be booked as a b2b then consider your OBC's & the cruise fare. I recently sailed a 31 day cruise and booked it as a b2b (14 and 17 day cruises) because it doubled my military & shareholder credits. The result was $1000 in OBC versus $500 which for me was more cost-effective to do it that way.

OP here - I faxed the information in yesterday late afternoon and today the credit is in our account. So I would suggest faxing over emailing. Thanks Princess!! And thanks board members for the advice!

I sent in my Husband's records and did not hear back. I waited two weeks and called Princess. They said that they had never received it. I had sent it with tracking that showed delivered. I asked to speak to a supervisor. It suddenly appeared and I got that credit while I was on the phone. I suggest that you give them a call. They told me that they were up to date with requests when I called.

Good luck.

I just had the same conversation. I didn't get as far as you though. They told me to resend the info, wait a week and call back. I originally sent the documentation 09/28/14. I'm going to give it a day then call back and speak with a supervisor.

Thanks all - have company coming in from out of town so it will be a few days before I can get it faxed, but when I do I'll post an update and let you know how it turns out!

Regular mail works well too. It's been reported on multiple threads that Princess no longer accepts these on email and that you must fax or mail. My mail took about three days to get posted.

No, it cannot be used for gratuities or casino charges. Here's the quote from the Princess Military Personnel Benefit Onboard Credit Program page:

"This offer cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities."

Interesting to note this disclaimer, while it is one of the few refundable OBC types. They have never prevented me from using it for gratuities.

Yes, I read this as well but it seemed the OBC was just posted in the beginning of the cruise as a credit and everything worked its way off it. We did spend greater than our tips but it didn't seem that we couldn't have applied it to them.

Military credit still remains that; a credit. Whatever is charged to your account is just deducted from the credits on it. Princess has not yet gotten technologically savvy to separate one from the other. And you hope they never will.;)
